I find it odd that email is to blame, email is not the issue the issue is behavior of people, because even if you rid yourself of email then whatever you have switched too will then suddenly become the problem. In the case of Atos the face to face option is a good idea, as most people will decide what would have been easy to send in email isn't worth the bother of face time or at the very least will suddenly seem less crucial, however their switch to "chat-type collaborative services" is unlikely to be any better than email unless they have a "chat time moderator" to keep everyone in line and on track.
Is there a well regarded hacking book out there? Most comments suggest there is not and I get the feeling hackers are primarily self taught so if you're grabbing Backtrack and using youtube tutorials you most likely are not a "hacker" (cracker?)
""It's nearly impossible to keep people out. The best thing you can do is have something that tells you when they get in,""
It's easy to keep them out take it off the Internet, seriously when they are hacking your thermostat from China how much more encouragement do you need? It's pretty clear they don't have much in the way of telling them when someone gets in either since they (who ever hacked them) were there for over a year.
All these hack jobs in the news are beginning to seem like a steady stream of pro "closed Internet" propaganda.
Yes excellent, horror and SciFi blended quite well and the concept of "bond animals" truly a space opera if there ever was one. I need to check out Hamilton again and see if he has anything new.
Any of the Culture series by Iain M Banks, as good as "Use of Weapons" is it isn't even the best, when you're a head in a jar growing a new body there's nothing like an AI that gives you a hat as a get well gift.
I have often wondered why the paparazzi don't use this for celeb weddings and such, I would also add that these "consumer drones" are easy to take out, simply flood the area with the same frequency the drone operates on and it crashes.
Adults that still need to act that way are generally hoping no one will notice what losers they are, they still haven't found themselves and any chance to direct that focus to someone else is taken.
You can plead the 5th amendment is some cases to keep from giving your password, not sure that applies in a military trial but there it is for the record...you know in hopes of keeping the FUD down.
I do agree here: "Even though I respect his ideals his methods are joke" Yes he was definitely not savvy enough to get into what he got into and one wonders from the chats if he fancied himself a "hacker".
So if Assange was interacting with him to get the data I think that may "stick the fork" in Assange, and the fact he used the same password on his Macbook as he did on his encrypted files is a warning to everyone, don't reuse user names or passwords, ever.
The issue wasn't that you couldn't put the serial killer to work instead of killing him, the issue was prison labor was so cheap it started undercutting "real jobs".
If the proliferation of CCTV using facial recognition could be tied into Google allowing you to Google for faces and where they were last seen.
So using a 3 Dimensional recognition algorithm and saving that data plus the location would then allow you to drag a picture of your friends face into Google (as you already can) then get results of where that face was last seen.
The answer to increased cost is increased contract length, for a 3 or 4 year contract AT&T will get you your new fractal antenna/software controlled "phone"

Sorry for the double up, something screwy on my end led me to believe my previous post did not take, perhaps it's time I check my own thermostat..
I am amazed how long the Quake series has been around and how much fun it is to still fraging, though I am a bit slower than I was 15 years ago.
All these hack jobs in the news lately seem like "closed Internet" propaganda to me.

Unless you look like these people: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/
Which in my opinion are real life zombies.
So it's the Walmart of the Internet.

In other words fuck em.

I just love his title "smart user"
Thank you and I agree.
Or "rights" vs "writes"

I agree with you Asimov wasn't naive and David wasn't Christian.
