With all the negative press surrounding EA of late and the fact their in house games are just the same rehashed games over and over again, I told myself I wouldn't purchase another game from them. Then I found myself loading up a few of my favourite games and the splash screens all said the same thing XXXX cool game studio, and then published by EA GAMES. Its getting where you can't avoid them.
One thing I find when I am on vacation or when at college and had long breaks, is that I slept better when I knew I could get up at any time and often found myself getting less sleep than I was before but feeling much more refreshed. I'd stay up til 3am, sleep until 10am and feel great after 7 hours, but going to bed at 10:30pm to get up for work at 7am, even with 8 hours uninterrupted sleep I still felt drowsy and lathargic for the first half of the day.
Before people take it as an Anti-American comment, a nicer way of putting it is, America does what it believes to be the right thing to do without considering the full consequences first.

Thank you, you've been most helpful (posted as AC due to embarrassment).
Not true, fresh mea and vegetables cost more than microwave meals, having lived on microwave meals exclusively through college I know this to be a fact.
From my brief time in beta, I was under the impression that most of the good items can't be used until a higher level anyway, so the only thing you could really get that would be useful is money, and a newbie probably wouldn't make much use of a few million gold anyway one would think?
As others have pointed out, it seems more trouble than its worth and would be quicker to just write a list by hand. What would be kinda cool though if someone knocked up something the guy was asking for and managed to interface it with one of the many online grocery services, scan the items, click a button and the computer goes and restocks your kitchen for you.
I was in the WoW beta and had a blast, I also played SWG for over a year, so assuming SWG is somewhat similar in nature to EQ being by EQ and all, I find that WoW was more lighthearted and fun, whereas SWG was a little deeper (for the first 3-5 months) and serious. Anyone here who plays both able to say if EQ 2 is for the serious players and WoW for the casual?
Even though your comment was inflammatory, I'll bite. Why shoudl England switch to the Euro? The pound is doing absolutely great, and we could easily ride the gains we get from that for the next 5-10 years and then switch over without any real drawbacks, if it ain't broke...

While I agree for the most part, the cars from Japan comment isn't in the same category at the rest. I buy Japanese because they are better cars, I can buy an American car for around the same price, but I'd get crappy milege and it wouldn't last half as long as the japanese car, so that isn't the same at the others you listed.
Aye, I always enjoyed the Christmas Lectures myself. Living in the US for the past three years, the BBC education programs are one of the things I really miss, apart from the old rebroadbast of an old war documentry on History, most documentrys etc are mostly discovery channel style dumbed down and simplified so much to the point where its not educational whatsoever.
If anyone knows of anyway to see the Christmas lectures (if they are still doing them) in the US, please let me know!
I wasn't sticking up for windows, just that despite the problems they still managed to come up with a good clean interface. I understand that GIMP is Open source and primarily developed for Linux, but it really seems the windows binary/version/whatever you call it is fustrating and could be made so much better if the interface was nicer. If I was a half decent coder I'd try to make one myself but alas I suck at programming.
I think peopel are all bitching because despite "Windows window management sucks balls", which may or may not be the case, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Photoeditor etc all seem to have a good interface despite this. Rather than saying oh its because of windows, or its dumb people not knowing how to dock the various gui elements, how about instead you just listen to the critique and say fair enough, hopefully this will be fixed soon. I use GIMP as I can't afford photoshop and its way more powerful than I need anyway, but its still fustrating that the interface just isn't intuitive like it is on PSP or PS.
You get my point though, its not something I'd expect someone to of patented because its so obvious and not some sort of secret technology that no one else has not figured out.
These patent suits are getting sillier and sillier, whats to stop someone saying I'm going to file a patent now for "Using a credit chip to pay for goods and services via the internet or online kiosk booths" and waiting 25 years for the demise of physical money and then suddernly cashing in on what was obvious. I really hope suits like these start getting thrown out with all court costs pushed onto the company that bought the suit.
Actually, apart from being overdrawn on your account ot a cheque bouncing, Bank accounts in the UK are free, cheques are free, theres no ATM fee's no matter which ATM you use etc. I do get your point though.
They're often one and the same. Verizon plans to deliver DirecTV via their high speed fiber network they're currently building.

Are we talking about venting off heat from the boxen or the interesting aromas from the users?
:)
Yes.
Bullfrog when Peter Molyneaux was still with them worked on all those I believe.
Is that the same game where some guy just bought himself his own island? Makes a lot of sense from the way you've described the game.

I meant being by SOE, not EQ.

Just don't let captain Murphy get his hands on it...
I dunno, sounds like something a Drunken Irish Nazi would say.... :)
