    Actually, the odds aren't 50/50. There are three possible outcomes: they are more advanced, the same level of advancement, and less advanced.

    I'm thinking that the chance of them having the same level of advancement is very small, so I'd say it's more of 49.25/.5/49.25 .

    Despite your sarcasm, I think it's important to point out one thing. The people who support the Invasions of Privacy are those who are afraid of the Terrorists (boo!).

    Even though you have a higher chance of dying from car accidents (why don't we ban all cars?), people are scared shitless of terrorists.

    It's an odd definition of "stealth" you have where taking cover is encompassed by it.

    "Stealth" means acting in a covert way. It does not mean taking cover. Taking cover is a smart thing to do, but is in no way "stealth."

    Has it not sunk in yet that you simply can't intrude on systems or files without permission, however helpful your intentions? How freaking difficult is that for people to grasp?

    Let's say some government was secretly torturing those that it didn't agree with. Now let's say that they were lambasting other countries for torturing dissedents. And say they purposely hid this information from the citizens of their country. All files that concerned it were locked up. Say someone took some of those files, without permission and released them to the citizens of that nation.

    How is that a bad thing?
