I hope no-one thinks that Apple saw the error of it's ways and decided to withdraw. The main reason they pulled away from this issue was due to the bad press. For a company who's very existence depends on the goodwill of it patrons (as opposed to bland acceptance) this shouldn't come as any surprise.
While I agree it's refreshing to see a company actually listen to the community, I certainly don't think Apple should be praised for backing down from a lawsuit that it never should have initiated.
Finally 'real' hackers can now join their Hollywood counterparts by eschewing complex algorithms, buffer overruns and good old-fashioned skullduggery. Now secure systems will be protected by spinning multicoloured 3D geometric shapes.
Hack the gibson anyone?
This article contains material on spacesuit evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of spacesuits. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.
If evolution teaches us anything (no comments from the Intelligent Design category please) it's that our memory is working just fine.
The memories that really stick with us and are the most vivid are the huge mistakes and successes. This is for the sole purpose of helping us deal with future situations by drawing on past experiences.
So not being able to remember where your keys are when you're late for work may seem like the product of a faulty memory, the brain is simply full of more pragmatic information like 'fire burns' or 'never bet on the Steelers'.
I'm sure the Korean WOW players will take the server problems in good humour, now if the Starcraft servers went down it'd be a diferent story.
Kekeke!!
He should take solace in knowing that the massive amounts of radiation hitting the planet due to it having no atmosphere to speak of would likely burn out the eyes of the tourist.
Well he wasn't lying to you technically speaking.
1. All sony music players will play MP3s once they have been converted using the included software. Yes it's time consuming and unnecessary but if you have an MP3 file then the MD/NetMD/Walkman will play it.
2. ATRAC3 gets a lot of flac for poor quality, and in the early stages it indeed sounded bad. It's reached version 4.5 now IIRC and sound tests show that a 64kbs Atract is indistinguishable from a 128kbs mp3 (of course we all use a higher bitrate I hope but that's the standard)
3. Atrac saves on batteries, it's not just marketing spin. I have a MD player (moving parts and all) and I can get upwards of 20 hours using one NiMH AA battery.
I'm not expecting you to rush out and buy a MD, and while the software that comes with them is a pain, once the music is on the machine, they're hard to beat.
Thanks
I see commercials in games falling into three categories neither of which would inspire confidence in the advertisers' minds.
1. Quiet in the background ads a la the 'Blade Runner' Geishas, whose real purpose is to provide interesting lighting and some fancy sparks. Players barely notice them or quickly learn to ignore.
2. Developer Revenge: Placing the ads front and centre in either horribly violent or ironic scenes. Pepsi machines coated in pre-scripted gibs, or McDonalds 'I'm loving it' playing during a shootout.
3. Possibly the worst option, enemies branded with the ads, or worse 'This Zombie brought to you by Coke, now back to the game'.
Then again, what do I know.
Seeing as the maiden voyage of the ship was a little spotty, I'd be wary of sending up tourists. It'd only take one incident to stop this new industry in it's tracks

Now that Firefox has become popular I have to use Mozilla to prop up my feeble ego by running against the current and sneering at those along the way.
"Well Johnson, we found the latest build of Firefox on your machine and a copy of OpenOffice. Clear out your desk by noon"

Cheers for the outstanding and painstaking work, jeers for the annoying advertisments between pages
There goes the green party splitting the vote again
