I bought a Toshiba and was unhappy with it. It was the Satellite Pro M70-SR3 which I got in early December. JUST past the 14 day return period, it started locking up big time. Every time I would set the computer down on a chair or bed it would instantly freeze. I took it back to the store, and after a big ordeal, was told I could return it.
I too will never buy another Toshiba laptop, and Sony is out of the question too. Dells are crap from what I heard, Thinkpads are too expensive, so what does that leave me really?
It seemed like the only brand I could trust now was Apple, so I got a PowerBook. I've been a PC user my entire life, but I must say, I'm very impressed with my Apple. If I were you, I'd get one and at least try it out. You won't reget it
Yahoo is the same way. My ISP uses Yahoo for its email and when a virus comes through it don't let you get the attachement at all. I think it's kind of good though, because you know there's stupid people out there who are just dying to open it, even if it's been flagged as a virus.
Actually, I bought an original Xbox not to play games on, but to use as a media device. It really worked great for all the TV shows and movied I snagged off usenet. Simply put all my files in a shared folder on my computer and fire up Xbox Media Center on the Xbox, and watch what ever I wanted on a nice 35" TV instead of my 17" monitor.
It wasn't until I discovered Rainbow Six 3 that I actually started to use it to play games.
if you try and just go straight to the downloads page you still have to download GenguineCheck.exe and paste the code in. If I hadn't read the summary, I wouldn't have known about this plugin
And somethign else that's interesting.. Even after installing the plugin and closing Firefox completely, when I return to the downloads page it STILL wants me to paste the validation code in
To me, VoIP is well worth it. For ~$24 I can make unlimited calls to 22 countries and have numbers in Vermont and Pennsylvania so that my family in both those states can call me for nothing (I live in Canada).
Also you can pick up toll-free numbers for about 20c/month with just over 1c/min, which if you do the math ($8 - $0.20, at a rate of 1.37c/min) you could have about 570 minutes for the exact same price as you pay now.
My thoughts exactly!
Most of the movies out there I won't even bother to download simply because they aren't even worth the time getting. So if it's not worthwhile for me to get for free, then why would I pay for it.
Okay first of all, there's a LOT of shit your dead grandmother can't do. Get over it.
And I agree SIP isn't the greatest, however it does work for me and aside from the initial problem I had with it, it's been fine ever since. I would think that if you were buying a VoIP adapter and signing up with a service like Skype then you know enough about opening ports on a router to get it to work. It's really not that difficult.
Been using SIP here through NAT for quite some time now. Had problems with audio (couldn't hear the calling party) but once I opened up some RTP ports it worked perfectly.
I even had 2 SIP devices behind 2 different NATs playing nicely, so it isn't that bad if you know what you're doing.
I had no idea what the object of this game was when I first played it. The guy kept flying out of the windows and I'm like "what the hell am I doing wrong?!"
I've been using BroadVoice for a while now and recently trying LiveVoip and I must say I think the quality of the audio is much better than any cell phone I've ever talked on. Now if only I could take my VoIP phone in the car with me..
Nice! Now I can have 8GB of storage for all my phone numbers! Oh wait, that already fits on my 32k SIM. Nevermind.
Who says they'd be using their own credit card? After all, they ARE spamming people, so it's not like they have morals.

These are AIM users we're talking about :)

Seems it got /.ed before it even went live

Just my 2 cents

So wait, what about dual citizens who were born abroad that hold US passports? Does this apply to us? I RTFA but it wasn't too clear about that.
That's strange. Before my original post I even closed out of Word and opened it again to see if it would come back and it didn't. Same with Excel.
Isn't it as simple as right-clicking the toolbar area and unchecking PDFmaker? I did this in about 2 seconds and it's gone.
