That's quite true that it's the U235 that is "split" to produce energy. However we do use U238 in a reactor as a controlling mechanism. It's also been used in nuclear bombs as the deflector, as it is quite stable.

U235 on it's on and not enriched is considered to be sub-critical meaning that nuclear reactions occur here and there but aren't very common. When we enrich the uranium it becomes close to critical, so that reactions are somewhat commonplace. When it's in a controlled explosion the U235 becomes super-critical and nuclear reactions occur almost everywhere until the bomb completes it's explosion and releases the nuclear energy.

Not true. The best place for robotics is in guerilla warfare which is where human casualties are highest. However a robot has not yet been designed for this. The robot that this article is about is one that would be "on the front lines" and would be first into battle.

The Iraq and Afghan wars aren't really an ideal scenario for these robots. They're more suited for a WWIII scenario where a robot could go into situations that would have it heavily outnumbered.

  13. Re:Well, it can be done. But can it be done well? on Can People Really Program 80+ Hours a Week? · · Score: 1

I believe it can be done. Some of my best code comes after I've spent 20-30+ hours finding many ways that don't work.

Plus once I hit a great idea I don't leave the computer until it's all down, even if it takes many hours to write out because once I get sidetracked from coding for just a few seconds the idea is lost. Usually when I'm on fire, as I call it, I get a lot of code out quickly with very few bugs(usually a semicolon here and there or misspelled variables).

80+ hours a week? Yeah, I could see it as being possible. My personal best is only 65 hours but I had to work weekends to get it done before a deadline. Otherwise I stick to 40-50 hours, mostly because I like to go out drinking too much.

But seriously, this sounds like a weird idea for a game in the first place. The company had to know it would cause controversy which is why they made it and are selling it for $10 a pop(pun intended).

My grandmother had the same thing happen after her stroke. But her memory would come and go, occasionally she would get some memory and be able to hold it forever, but not very often.

After her second stroke she lost most of her memory of the last 20 or so years. It doesn't come back at all and her "reset" is about 5 minutes, which makes conversation impossible.

Now when I visit her she thinks I'm my dad and I learn interesting things about his childhood. She seems to want to constantly punish me for one thing or another. Some of which are: crashing a homemade snowmobile through the upstairs window. apparently he was trying to jump the roof, shaving the dog, and borrowing the car and leaving it around a tree. Some of the things are interesting so I guess I make good out of a bad situation.
