69 Degrees F? What glacier do you live on?
I'm freezing at 75 and make sure I bring in a jacket if I know the office is going to be 70 or below. 80-85 is about perfect and 90 is fine. as for average temperature of the environments for our computers, 80-85 is normal. only one person here has a computer running in a 69 degree room, and that machine has the highest incidence of failure (though that's not temperature related, it's user-related).
I keep trying to get a nice sun-warmed basking rock installed, but management as concerns that it might lessen my productivity....
Why are you surprised? Most Americans are so good at doublethink that they never even realise it. Whatever the televised news says is true at the moment has always been true. Aside from this, and the fact that we're probably the laziest people in the world, most American's seem to have the critical thinking skills of a lobotamized lab rat.
I'm an American by the way, and I did vote in the last electiom, but somehow I don't feel that my best interests are being served. Isn't dict^h^h^h^htheo^h^h^hdemocracy fun?
I like the term "Indentured Wage-Slaves" but PWDIFTJD just doesn't work as a TLA. Perhaps we should call them "Self Serving Heroes" ? (note: replace "Heroes" with whatever whord you want that starts with 'H')
Thank you for clarifying that. I wasn't aware (and am too lazy to look up) that NO2 wasthat harmful a greenhouse gas, and that combined with water lead me to have some doubts. But perhaps you're right and water was inserted as something of a joke while the rest of the post was serious.
I don't know if I should take this seriously or not. Much of it sounds insightful, but the phrase "significant greenhouse gases like dihydrogen-monoxide" combined with the prase "pollutants like NO2" tends to cast doubt on the seriousness of the poster. I haven't bothered to follow and read the links yet, but either this is an informative post with just a few bad bits of information, or a joke which I most people, myself included, fell for.
Let's make a deal: Microsoft can close the Linux source and you can copy all the music you want.
Any takers?
How about this deal: Microsoft can fork the Linux kernel and release it under a non GPL license (I know they can't do this because of the GPL, but let's pretend they can). While at the same time they aren't allowed to do anything to the existing linux kernel tree or any distros that use it.
For all I care microsoft could release a linux distro containing no GPL and no source and chage the moon for it, or give it away free, or whatever. However, the existing distros can do that too only they have to give you the source fr any GPLed stuff. I'll take whichever one I want most.
I think what was meant was that the idea has been done, but using WMA instead of MP3. The other way of reading that makes little sense, after all we all know that WMA != MP3, they onl share one letter and it's not in the right place.
I'm not, I mean my friend isn't, addicted to Slashdot. I, I mean ... uh... she, can quit anytime and never look back.
I'm impressed by your jealousy, even jealous.
Zaurii?
That's because "China" sounds like "Poland"
It would be rather like posting on slashdot, but with more people.
Somehow this whole thread leaves me feeling so inferior.
It could outshine my Tolkein Ring.
so does resolv.conf :]
Be-Woulf?
does it have dasblinkenlights?
so, how many geeks does it take to screw in a beer?
pretty good.. but wouldn't it have been better if...
:]
well.. if you had died and Cooper had posted the joke?
How would I say "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot, Shaken not Stirred"?

May the non-denominational powers that guide this universe be well in your favor
I like this. I think I'm going to start saying that everytime somebody sneezes.

So basically, it's not professionals vs amateurs, but more like professionals vs hobbyists?
Cyanide? I thought that was dehydrated almond paste...
3 replies complaining about your moderation.. well now that you're +5 funny, all of them are redundant. How's that for justice?
fnord.
mp3==wma
Huh? I think I missed something
