Viacom needs Jon Stewart more than Jon Stewart needs Viacom. Think about it. If Jon was fired from his job at The Daily Show, he would immediately be signed by a rival to Viacom. I don't think he really has much to worry about other than speaking his mind. At the very least, he might make Viacom look good for hiring an intelligent man.

Don't believe that! I bought some from a site I got in an email, and it does not work! And when I tried to contact the site owner, I never got a response. I suppose it's possible I got a bad batch, but I'm going to stay away.

If that was true, do you really think the industry would be lobbying to loosen the rules? If the name is not chocolate then it is perceived as a different product, with consequentially fewer buyers. Language has meaning, measurable in dollars.

It IS a different product. It should be labeled as such. As other posters have mentioned, would you buy something labeled as beef if you knew it was actually mostly soy? Businesses need to be kept in check to, god forbid, PROTECT THE CONSUMER'S INTERESTS.

A related thing I might like would be if the system notified me any time any program tried to open up a network connection of any sort; to which I could say "allow", "always allow" (for trusted things), "disallow", or "always disallow" (for things you think are spyware).

There's a program called LittleSnitch that does exactly what you're describing there.

So you still have to treat WoW as a second job to play in the end-game? Great. Hopefully Blizzard will introduce some good non-set items in 5 or 10-man instances. I don't have the time to invest in raiding for 10+ hours a week, nor do I even have that desire. I do, however, have a few real-life friends that I'd love to be able to play with through the end-game. I realize Blizzard can get away with the crappy end-game WoW currently has, but it would be great if it were possible for players like me and thousands of others to still be viable without having a second job.

While I can see where the official is coming from, there's another thing to look at. The massive presence of botnets also shows the dominance of Microsoft in the field. Perhaps the officials should point out that the botnets could be reduced or eliminated by changing to alternatives such as Linux or BSD. Heck, even OS X would be better than Windows from a security point-of-view. So while it is indeed a great thing to celebrate that the UK has such broadband penetration, we need to remember that the market is dominated by the OS which allows botnets to begin with.
