Lighting conditions could change between those photos, making it rather awkward. Keep in mind that those pictures are taken by a car, so stopping for a while to take those shots is not really an option.
Right... and defacing a NASA website for sure is a good way to "do some good".
Although some say that only active protesting works, I'm sure they didn't mean to sit on your chair and "h4x0r" some sites. Actually it's pretty sad to see one defacing websites in name of "peace and justice". It also concerns when someone say thats hacktivism, as it can create a bad impression about legit hacktivism activities (such as providing privacy for people in China, etc.).
They also forgot to consider a few points:
1. Someone who wants prescription drugs will either buy on a pharmacy (usually cheaper), or probably ask someone they know before taking into account that weird email that sells X4N4*, z0l0f7 and other medicines.
2. Most people tend to ignore those spams (from pharmacies), as most of the people don't care about that, whereas when it comes to porn, well, one always get a freebie on the website... and everybody loves porn;)
When I've first seen the article about download.php, I kept wondering why microsoft would select such string, instead of, for instance, sourceforge or freshmeat. Seems like they block download.php as a very idiot way to avoid people from spreading the MSN Plus download link.
MSN is amanzingly popular among the "average" users, and got really strong in Brasil after the launch of Windows XP. They did some TV ads too, but I think that the damn man-in-butterfly-costume scared normal people;-)
I always wondered why the so called "hackers" in the movie needed a book on Compilers... at least they didn't carry the "Green book with red things on it" (Cormen). That book, by the way, is a must-have on any programmer's shelf. I've got it myself, along with C the programming Language, Programming Perl, Cryptography (by Trappe and Washington), Programming Challenges and Algorithm Design Manual (is this the red book that the "hackers" carried?) by Skiena, Algorithms in C, Expert C Programming.
I also have lots of non-tech books, like Cryptonomicon (erm... ok...), lots by Vonnegut, and some Mad magazines.
And FSF making a total ass out of themselves will change it how?
I wonder if any FF had more downloads in one day than any Windows service pack.
Same in Brazil.
Probably one of the silliest marketing "stunts" ever pulled by open source projects.
Kinda perpertuates the stereotype of nerds in a room high fiving each other cheering over some silly "achievment".

Mashup = Buzzword for "site that mixes contents from more than one site".

That gives a whole new meaning to "this dvd stinks".

Heck, even the Angry Beavers did it.
Was it in the same memo about the new TPS reports cover?

Forgot to mention the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Wonder if that lappy will require 1.2GW to run... and if it comes with plutonium batteries.
