While I know you are stating your opinion, and almost all of the games you mentioned are great, but I can't with good conscience, let you call NBA Live 2001 (EA Basketball) a good game. This game gives Rise of the Robots 2 a good running for worst game ever... well that might be a little harsh, I just think basketball has been done better (see NBA 2K1 for Dreamcast).

Ok, here are my thoughts after my first 24 hours with the psx2:

Overall: way too much hype, don't pay a dollar over 300 for this system. It is a huge step up from the first playstation graphically, and a small step up from the dreamcast GRAPHICALLY, but the games just aren't there yet.

System: looks cool, I'll probably break the slide out tray sometime next week though. And why is the power button on the back?

I bought 5 games, go read reviews at ign.com if you want the details, overall they look good, football and hockey are fun with some problems, tekken eats ass...not even 3D fighting (3d characters on a rotating 2d plane)!!! boo namco. SSX is decent, and swing away golf is good arcade system golf. I'm sure better games are coming (at least I hope so)

I'm just waiting for Gran Turismo 3 and Metal Gear Solid. Until then I'm glad I have my Dreamcast.

Only once, about a year ago, I ordered a wall scroll from anime nation and they sent the wrong one, I emailed them, and they sent the right one and let me keep the other one as well! Have I just been lucky? Or are these people just going to the wrong sites. I don't count server errors as a screw up, because then the order is not really placed, and it's not always their fault. that's my 2 cents.

  20. Sony Remote on The Do-It-All Remote? · · Score: 1

I can only comment on what I use on a regular basis, the Sony Remote Commander RM-V2000 (even the name is cool). This remote kicks some serious ass. It has 12 different modes (tv,vcr1,vcr2,vcr3,dvd,dbs/cable,amp,cd,md/dat/dec k b/a,tuner,option) and a huge backlit, touch-sensative LCD display. All of the buttons are programmable and the remote can "learn" your existing remotes if they are not pre-programmed. The remote also features 3 macro buttons that let you set a number of commands (like turn the tv on, turn to video 1 mode, turn the amp on and put it in DVD mode, and then turn the dvd player on and press the play button) that can then be accessed at the touch of a button. It can also learn other IR products, like lights and window shades (if you've got IR controlled window shades, you have a bigger problem than finding an all-in-one remote). I believe this is the same remote people posted about earlier. I got it at a sony dealer here in town for $125, definitely worth the money. Sorry, I don't have a URL to sony's page, I'm too lazy. hope that helps. laters.

  21. To people having trouble with Cisco Router/Games on Cable vs. DSL, Explained · · Score: 1

A little off the main topic, but I think this is good information. If you are using a Cisco 675 router, update your ROM to CBOS 2.2 (you may have to "find" this on the net somewhere), then, when port mapping, skip the inside IP information (example: 10.0.0.2 6970 udp) that will open up port 6970 udp on the machine with the IP 10.0.0.2. To open all ports, just type 10.0.0.2 udp, that will open all udp ports (probably not the best idea). Now when your dynamic IP changes, you don't have to do anything. Plus, while I could never get starcraft to work with the old ROM, 2.2 does it perfectly :)

I thought the psx2 could push a Max of 75 million polygons? And when in a real life situation (ie fully textured w/ effects) it was closer to maybe 20 million. 80 million per second is said to be enough to emulate what the human eye sees(double that for stereoscopic), and I'm pretty sure the psx2 can't handle that.
