You sick puppy! I salute you. The dried cow manure is a nice touch.

This is starting to remind me of a conversation with someone from Luisiana 10 years ago.
He was telling me about an alledged incident in La. where someone got a section of pvc pipe shoved where the sun don't shine, then a length of barb-wire was threaded up the pvc pipe, then the pipe was removed leaving behind the barb wire. I remarked something like, "well it could have been worse." him: "how so?" me:" at least they didn't hook the free end of the barb-wire over the electric fence!"

Hmmm...would be a good way to keep track of these lawyers, just check the fence if ya need one. ;)

60's were strange. We had various bad news war coverage all the time, still civil rights issues, riots, etc. but when it came to space, it's like everything stopped. All the channels covered space shots, they would suspend regular programming and just follow it all day long. Just about everyone loved it. It was something to just feel good about. So when we got a modern (for then) space show, it...took off is the word. Even though it was cancelled quickly, and no one really knew why besides the producers. And yes, I think that was the real kick in the pants decade for tech advances, although we are getting a LOT more now, it just seemed and felt more important then. Now it is normal to hear about fantastic advances, back then it was still exciting, even if by modern standards they weren't all that special or innovative. You just *knew* neat stuff was coming, it wasn't there yet, but it would be soon.

We (my family) were at some friends house for a party just for that show. My father and the host worked together at Goddard Space Flight Center for NASA)

At that time, the show and special effects were near cutting edge, and a lot of the concepts in the show were new and strange- cool!

The plots were standard fare, but that's true of any show- it's damn near impossible to come up with a totally original, never been done before story line and plot. All of the basic ones have been done for centuries I guess.

BTW, even after all of that, there are about 2 or 3 songs of theirs I do like, and I do respect their talent and creativity. It just is not my style of music for the most part.

Back in the mid 60's when the "Fab Four" were starting to get airtime in USA, I was already hooked on several "underground" radio stations around Columbus, OH that were playing stuff like:
Fat Mattress (Noel Redding- became bassist for Jimi Hendrix Experience)
White Rhino (don't know what happened with them)
    MC5
Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes

(quote from above link) "EE Times: With fab 38, AMD is planning to install a very modern production line. But this fab will launch production only in two years. What are AMDs plans for the time between?

Udo Nothelfer: Presently, the main focus of Fab 36 is an aggressive ramp-up for 90-nm chips on 300 mm. Also we are about to complete the 65-nm technology qualification and will bring them to production in the second half of 2006.

EE Times: Are the technological issues solved, especially regarding lithography and materials?

Nothelfer: With the relevant problems, we are through. We are nicely on track and will reach our goal in the second half of the year. Our next major challenge will be the rapid ramp-up of 65-nm volume production. Our goal is quite aggressive: By mid-2007, we want to have the conversion to 65-nm in fab 36 done. "

He (Nothelfer) then starts talking about the 45 nm hurdles they are working on.

I'm sure Intel is also forging ahead (one hint: get rid of the wole FSB concept, HyperTransport works!), and it will take a long time (if ever) for AMD to break over the 50% market share, but AMD increasing it's market share by any significant amount has an effect on Intel.

BTW, I happen to be partial to AMD cpu's, but I am not a rabid fanboy, I have both AMD cpu's(2), and Intel cpu's (3) on my home network.

Core Duo is a big step up for Intel, and I expect them to take full advantage of this while they can, then AMD will step in with their volley.
