    Interesting point:"its basically spyware.", as every time my XP Pro box AutoUpdates, I have to "calm down: Avast Home Edition AV, as it tags the WGA as a trojan.

    P.S. for those not familiar with Avast- when it finds "malware", it sounds off with a "whooping siren/airraid warning type noise" that WILL get your attention. (yes, that feature can be turned off, but I leave it on!)

    I wish I currently had mod points- I would mod this "insightful", as this is the foundation of the problem from EU's POV (IMHO).

    Good post. I also think Firefox had some small part to play in waking up the masses to the fact that there ARE alternatives to a Windoze only box.

    If I currently had mod points, I would not have replied, instead I would have gave you +1 insightful.

    I can get a t-shirt for next to nothing at any yard/garage sale, flea market for 1$ US or less, WTF?!?!?!

    Skip the middlman, print your own t-shirts, and stay off of the server logs.txt, or whatever!

    This I know for a fact because I can remember the tube testers in the stores, and I, sadly, am also older than dirt according to my step-daughter.

    Yeah, all dogs should come with this already installed (inserted?) along with a WiFi chip, then they wouldn't have to go around sniffing each other's rectums, the "smart pill" could do it for them and transmit to interested parties: hmmmm.... smells like dog's ass here!- maybe not a good idea! ;)

    While I basically agree with you, I would like to point out that the universities are footing the students educational bill by way of athletic scholarships, thus should have a little say in the student athlete's behavior that could reflect on the university.

    How much say they should have is a matter of debate, and IMHO, this is a little too draconian and overreaching.

    My perspective on this subject is this:
    university = place of education, so why not educate instead of repress!

    For example:
    freshman orientation: have a short "class" on internet privacy/private info security as mandatory for ALL incoming students, not just athletic scholarships.
    Also, instead of making the athlete's remove their profiles, TEACH them to have/use them safely.

    Education at a university- what a novel concept!

    I'm a lucky dog! Living here in Stillwater, OK, home of the first ever Sonic (see history here if interested: http://www.sonicdrivein.com/history/index.jsp), I can attest that the food is as good as the commercials portray it to be. Most of the Sonics I have tried in other parts of the USA have also been good.
    If you ever travel to the mid/southwest, give it a try- they are one of the better fast food joints IMHO.
    If you imbibe alcohal, then one of Sonic's "Route 44 Cherry Limeaides" with tequila makes for a tasty field expedient margarita substitute! :)

    why don't you be a man and tell them the truth- that you are trying to shore up a leaky, sinking business model (just like the *AA's) and don't have the sense to adapt to a dynamic world.

    Your post makes me want to visit your store- dressed in a pirate's costume (complete with annoying parrot on shoulder) and see if your actions compare with your post...hope you habve a good health insurance plan! ;)

    I know it's not the most popular thing to do here, but if you read TFA, you should have seen this:
    "I should note, by the way, that running a GeForce 7950 GX2 does not require an NVIDIA SLI chipset or even an NVIDIA chipset at all. Intel-based mobos and the like are happily on the GX2's compatibility list."

    As an observant USAian, all I can say at the moment ( not having mod points)...Well Stated!
    Changes are creeping up on us at an alarming rate. We (in the USA) seem blind or ambivelent to this nowdays. We do not have the freedoms and privacy we cherish and rant about anymore- it's now just traditional lip service to the past.

    WAKE UP AMERICANS!
    Hopefully (not holding my breath, and renewing my passport) we will wake up and change the trends, but I have serious doubts. Sad, really.

    BTW, good insight, and I think that all replies trying to invoke Godwin's Law are missing the point (current reality).

    Again, good insightful post.

    Being ex military (US Army), I feel like another "Boston Tea Party" type event is desperately needed. I may be old and out of shape now, but the spirit of my oath taken when I enlisted makes me want to defend my Constitution and Country with a revelution.

    (pardon the spelling- long day at work, and now with alcohal in my system, spelling/grammar could be/is mangled)
