*Disclaimer* I live in Oklahoma - I feel your pain, You are preaching to the unaware and clueless sectors here.

The average /.'er has no clue what is involved with with what it takes to get an oilfield 'online'., much less the economics involved.
I have several pumping stations on my property and it is frustrating to 'clue in' the rest of the country in what's involved to get a station 'online'(ie:getting oil out of the ground and to 'something useful')

The whole 'get some money now, and fsck you' and fsck the future attitude is prevalent here with the land owners. It is a difficult hurdle to overcome.

Don't get me wrong, I would welcome any VIABLE alternatives, but until that happens I will support WHATEVER means of PRACTICAL energy we have to utilize.

The source is always available to be checked, so I don't see a problem here unless someone like MS is trying to 'poison the well' to try to increase their marketshare. This is FUD as far as I am concerned. (I maintain backups, so WTF?!- let's see a problem with this before we jump the gun(or shark))

Just look at the root of the word 'Christianity': Christ. If the religion contains the belief and and importance of Christ as part of it's foundations, then it is a form of Christianity.

Some forms of Christianity have priests (Catholics), some do not, but all forms of Christianity have the belief in Christ as part of it's core.

Yahoo! has an interesting patent portfolio that may be a bigger target than just the search.

I also have to wonder if MS had anything to do with Carl Icahn stepping into the picture to 'stir the mud puddle' and help push Yahoo! towards MS.

It will be interesting to see how the dust settles on this one.
