We fixed the problem by removing the Mac device entirely and going with a dedicated hardware firewall solution and put wireless on the DMZ, and disabled wireless access for any machine on the wired network.
I suppose since you posted AC you were the one that modded Troll for disagreeing with the utterance of an actual event. Which is one of the things I do not like about Mac Fan boys. It's not enough to have a dissenting opinion, you have to persecute along with it.
I am ok with this. I really think we have gone off the deep end sometimes when we attribute human level emotions and feelings to animals. With some observed exceptions, Dogs, Dolphins, Etc.
But we are the master. We feed them, keep them warm, cleanse them in a manner they are incapable of and generally keep them healthy. It's not to hard to expect a certain level of service in return.
Now, that said, I am not condoning immoral behaviour, but it's an animal. If it's ok to kill and eat it, you should be free to enjoy yourself as long as the recipient isn't in pain.
Additionally, Forcing animals to mate is just as much rape as any human performing the act.
Well, at least he's right about Visual Studio(as far as Windows is concerned). The fact that the Express version is free AND comes with a free implementation of MSSQL only cements it in because it is the entry point, it's free, and it's what everyone uses in lower division college courses. No better way to lock in your market
We had security problems with Macs and IPv6. Part of our PCI-DSS compliance scanning services ran over the apple airport acting as the firewall ( yea don't go there ) and found every single ipv6 enabled device on the internal network.
We had to disable all IPv6 in the building and I 'accidentally' dropped the airport when reaching up to 'reconfigure' it.
My lack of adoption is my lack of confidence in an ipv6 firewall do a good job of blocking malicious attempts at access if everything has a publicly accessible IP. Have they designated private network ip blocks yet? Call me old school, but I like my NAT.
What's annoying was I was very serious from a medical standpoint, the suggestions in the OP would suggest this could be a real scenario "Hypothetically".
Sue me for working in the medical industry. But seriously, if HIV cannot be discussed openly without fear or stigma then it's no wonder it continues to spread. Read up on your biology before marking Troll.
NAT-ing will only get us so far. In order to route to one private network to another the address must either be bridged and on the same subnet, or not bridged on a separate subnet. 10.0.0.0/8 networks will live a little longer than 192.168.0.0/16, but not by much. ISP A Natting all their customers to 10.10.1.0/24 and ISP B Natting all their customers to 10.10.1.0/24, nobody from ISP A will be able to talk to ISB B unless they create an explicit bridge between themselves. The potential for a abuse and misunderstanding of this is going to be rife.
Too much NAT and it's going to be much more than a PITA.
What kind of security would have to be added? Try doing a Vamp Tap on a high tension line with no body around to care. I double dog dare you. *Evil Grin*
Exactly. I had a mainboard pop it's caps in a production studio once. While I was on the way back to the studio to fix it, my manager decided to have a go at it himself. He tore apart two other production machines trying to get it running. Who took the blame? Not the manager.
Had this not been my creation but an OEM machine the outcome would have been much different.
Lets coin a new phrase.
Defensive Technology - Building your systems as lawyer proof as possible. - Making IT choices not based on technological best practices, but on legal principles designed to cover your arse.
With depreciation of computer equipment being what it is a warranty is pretty redundant after the first year anyways. If your accountant is doing his or her job then you should have the money you need in the budget to replace machines providing they don't all go out at once. ( UPS / Power protection )
Depending on your software requirements it might be better for your career to have a third party to point the finger at when something breaks or someone deletes a file and blames it on equipment failure.
It doesn't matter how long, nor how much experience you have in the industry, it will be your equipment that failed. How dare you think to be capable of producing hardware for the government? Don't you know they have megalith corporations that we all love and trust our most critical infrastructure to?
If someone screws up it's better to point at the evil Dell corporation than risk losing your job over politics.
And believe me it will happen. Wait till your ISP goes bankrupt overnight and the ignorant masses demand you be fired for it. ( @home )
True, but the only time I really get the fan going is with ffmpeg or games. And since I don't play games on the server it's not really a big deal. Home server use is really minuscule and it comes with it's own UPS.:)
The sad truth of affairs are that people like us are vastly out numbered by those whose sole purpose on this earth is to breed.
It's the demographic that finds participating in the Nealson (sp) rating system interesting, that will determine where the technology goes. If humanity went with debate that made sense we might have been zipping about the galaxy in star ships centuries ago.
If it's approved by this body of people, then it's whats pushed. Bear, Football, shows that suck, new linear Internet. - Still pissed the canceled "Carnivale".

That was not an option.

Or we can switch to eating members of PETA.

I would give my left nut to make 50k again.
I will cut it off myself.
Anyone Hiring?

better to be an asshole than a pussy
Well, they say you are what you eat, Dick
Let me help you with that.
This makes me wonder if HIV / Aids isn't the result of a "Tummy Bug" Since that's the only place that anti-retrovirus drugs can't completely wipe out?
- Dan.
Well there you go, Eat shit and Live!

Sometimes lies can be a great thing.
I don't care if those aren't real, and I don't care if you're faking it. LIE TO ME!!!

Addendum - This scenario will mainly affect VPN's in the short term.

So we have a list going for people *not* to buy from, how about a list in the other direction? Where should I buy my next game from?
