When I think of it, not all the smart people in my high school listened to heavy metal, but all that did were really smart...

But they weren't social outcasts or had any trouble, they just... happened to like heavy metal.

    Correlation does not imply causation.

Maybe they just don't wanna listen to what the pop industry is shoving down their throats, or maybe there is just another factor. Maybe it is exactly what the OP said. Every theory is just as likely as the next, right now it just seems like people are throwing wild guesses until one of them sticks.

I completelly agree with you, its all a matter of perception.

Take the other side of the spectrum, someone who is great at inter-personal relationships but isn't interested in anything in particular, gets bad grades, etc.

Doesn't that sound familiar? Seems like I am describing almost every "popular" high school kid.

Those are "normal" because you can't *see* any apparent problem. As long as they seem normal to everyone else, they are considered normal.

However, if you have trouble communicating but are great at everything else, you don't seem so "normal" anymore, because you are not reacting as people expect you to. So they create a syndrome to explain you.

It is easier to create syndromes than to accept it as social problem. People prefer to deny that maybe the problem is in the world they live in, not in themselves.

  11. What Happens is: on World of Warcraft Honor System Live · · Score: 1

I've been playing in the test server for a while, and I will explain what the Honour System came down to basically.

Forget about doing quests, leveling, etc if you are over level 20 and under level 60. Now all constested areas are full of level 60s, and they will kill ANYTHING, since there is no dishonour.

The ONLY way of leveling now is by doing instances.

What actually happens, and blizzard probably didn't expect, is that level 60s that usually were down at high level instances or dueling, are now raiding contested areas that level 30s or so are used to level in. And those raids will kill ANYTHING that moves.

Not only that, but its now just a huge battlefield where tactics or skill is meaningless since the largest "zerg" mob wins.

If you wanna PVP, go to a PVE server. With the arena events, and with the upcoming battlegrounds, there will be PLENTY of PvPing in PVE servers, and you will be able to level up quietly and safely.
