Do you honestly think it would be allowed if the roles were reversed? You would be a fool to think that MS would play this nice.
MS is notorious for being the bully of the sandbox and personally, until they learn to play nice and share their toys, you just have to bully them back.
If you cannot figure out which version of its/it's truthfully belongs by using the context clues they taught us in 3rd grade, then you definitely need to find a new line of work.
I understand theres a certain level of expectations in formal writings, but when were all pounding out text on teh intarweb as fast as possible, then we are all bound to skip the occasional apostraphe...and if we do miss it on accident, I can assure you, you will get no apologies from me.
Yeah, it is definitely a fine example of 'nothing to report here' headlines.
I work at a newspaper managing the shovelware from print to online and we do that shit all the time...it blows my mind. They simply cannot get past the idea that todays readers want informative news even if theres less of it instead of just filling the page up with random shit.
Sweeping genrealizations exist because of the odds of it being correct. Its always a safe bet to go with what you know is most likely to be true. Occams razor at its finest.
You should watch the Boondocks on Cartoon Network on Sundays and you will understand.
I doubt seriously youre running mathmatica or a full final cut HD setup yourself there buddy.
Most people who do heavy graphical and video work work on a desktop machine. I have a desktop and a laptop and, ill state it again, it runs all my programs that I run on the desktop with relative ease.
There are people in my department who are running the same programs on older g4s and, when it comes time to make a high res large PDF it takes a couple minutes to process, but all and all, the programs runs fine.
And as far as your 'typical slashdot garbage' comment, I suggest you go elsewhere.
After hurricane Katrina hit us, my work decided we needed portability.
Along comes the 12" powerbooks.
Its cool and all, and it seems to be fast enough to run quark, photoshop, illustrator, flash, and dreamweaver on my machine. But I know other machines run it all faster.
One of the photogs neandered in here with a 17" behemoth PC with a 3.2ghz proc. I dont care about the diff in architectures...a 3.2ghz p4 is still faster than a 1.5ghz g4 all day long.
Even if i have 1.25gig ram vs his 768.
But there have been several features added. It's kinda nice. Oh, and for those who dont know, the 12" powerbook is just a 3rd iBook. Apple decided the silver aluminum case would be better.
Boy it seems like sony is just running around pissing everybody off...
Well, I for one pledge to no longer purchase any sony products. Nor will I buy online music from sony, purchase any games, or watch any sony movies until they stop being overbearing assholes with their stuff.
Are you implementing all these changes because WoW is kicking your asses in terms of marketshare?
After reading TFA, it seems like you are basically implementing all of the rules that makes WoW a much better game, and slapping a Star Wars wrapper around it all.
Also, didnt your focus groups tell you that all of these features is what people wanted before now? Or has peoples perceptions of online gaming changed since your release?
Well you can PVP almost every zone in WoW.
Looks like CoH saw how popular pvp is and decided it was time to try to play catch up.
There has to be some sort of interaction between players besides the typical "oh man..help me do this quest"
Did you get the gist of the story? Was their message conveyed?
Who cares if it was 3mil or 5mil...3mil or 5mil = fuckton
I work at a newspaper and I swear, some of the readers sit around reading stuff not to get the message but just to find something to complain about. The same holds true here, I just thought it was the habits of old farts with nothing better to do but I have been put in my place.
Some of you guys seriously need something else to do.
Misguided professionalism aside...

Open source stuff or not, I would throw a fit to stop that out of sheer general principles due to the way microsoft behaves over that crap.
After thinking a second...
IANAL but isnt the software free, but not neccesarily the artistic assets?
Or you could just actually get up every once in a while and not sit there like a complete log day in and day out.

Anyone nit-picking enough to write a letter of correction to an editor doubtless deserves the error that provoked it.

If it honestly gets you that worked up that they missed an apostraophe...maybe it's time for YOU to move on.
It is only a true grammatical error if the meaning gets lost or confused because of the error.
More companies going to India?
Well, I guess I am going down to McDonalds to pick up some applications -- anybody want me to pick them one up as well?

Apparently slashdot didnt get the memo.

*sniff sniff* Smells like Bogalusa. (Anybody from the gulf south will know what I am talking about, and the rest of you should google it)
Hahahahahaha.
Cynics are always right.
So you think theres a balanced appearance on it now? Sorry, tail wraparound or not, but that does not have good composition.

Indeed.
Back to piracy for me.
Yeah.

Myst and Rubiks cube was a fad. Fads are not dependent upon certain industries. I mean...come on...hanson was popular at one point.

The power of WoW is their ability to take the best of D2, WC3 and all of the WC universe then turn it into a MMORPG.
The D2 reward system rocks.
I admit, there are things that i wish could have been added but if you look at it overall, its still a very good game.
Why dont you SWG folks just go ahead and come on over and play some WoW.
SWG is a clusterfuck.
Just dont roll on Warsong. It's populated enough.
