After 236 years of elections, both fair and foul, we need Web 2.0 to save deomcracy?! Sounds like a bunch of soon-to-be unemployed Democrat policy wonks looking for a new angle to sell their snake oil.
Apple has never left backwards compatibility behind; look at 'Classic' or 'Rosetta'. I belive apple has a better track reccord of backwards compatibility than Microsoft.
I couldn't agree more, but is it a reporter's job to judge weather or not a company following the governments orders is evil? And in this case is it Google that is being evil, or china itself? Why should google be the one to stick it's neck out.
However, I do agree that google is making the wrong move here, I just like to play the devil's advocate.
If somebody just asked me to not find legal ways around the intedended laws I wouldn't.
Should somebody really have to tell people not to do things? Does the average person really not care what laws are intended to do, as long as they can get around the rules directly address?
Apple has sold PCs since back in the days of the Power PCs, and they have always been Macs.
There are a couple fundemental differences between what the average geek refers to as a PC, and a Mac. A PC runs windows, and a Mac runs Mac OS. This hasn't changed. A PC can be assembled without the permission of a PC manufacturer, while a Mac is built by Apple, and delived as a whole system. Always. As far as I know, this hasn't changed.
A Mac will NEVER be missing drivers for what is inside of it. A PC will almost always be missing drivers for some insignificant piece.
These are still Macs.

I hate it when story submitters just copy and paste from other news articles, not even giving them credit. It occasionally causes phrases that don't make sense, like this one.
I really wanted to see two large companies locked in an epic duel to the death in the arena of US Federal Courts, only to have the SCO beheaded due to lack of funds!
Well, anyway, I'm off to english class...
3. Given that the Software is provided at no charge, the downloading, installation and use of the Software is done at your own discretion and risk. Given the unpredictable behavior of some file-sharing programs, you should always retain a back up of important programs and files on your computer when installing or using software like this.
So, if I don't have any file sharing programs, I run this tool and it breaks my computer, can I sue them?
The radio may not be dead, but apple's reputation of quality may go if they implement it.
The quality of sound given out by a radio cannot be completely controlled by the hardware. If apple did implement a radio tuner, a good portion of the time people would be getting horible reception, and blame the ipod for that.
My guess is apple is not including the radio feature because it is one thing thats quality they cannot control.
That, or they just are saving it for a later release to make more money when everybody has to buy a new iPod.
Not really, to compare all you need is a hash of the file, which is much smaller than the average file. And if the hashes match, theres no need to send the whole file.
We DID detect this planet gravitationally. In fact, that was how it was first discovered; by looking at the orbits of the 9 (8) existing planets, people noticed that there had to be another planet (or gravitational anomoly out there.
This story is just about somebody visibally detecting the planet for the first time.

It's evil to obey laws... I see...

The saving problem was fixed in the 1.1 patch, among other things. The only problem is you cannot use 1.0 saves with the 1.1 patch.
The 1.1 patch fixed that, among other problems. Although, if you could save in 1.0, your saved games wont work in 1.1.
My guess is Apple knew about this technology, and it will first be used in Aptel Macs...
At least I can dream...

Apparently, you don't browse. Or, he just only browses his own computer...
