afaik, Sony PS2 uses the DNAS (Dynamic Network Authentication System) to scan whether the game CD is authentic sony product and then checks if the PS2 have been modded.. the result is (at least for me, using Messiah2) is real difficulty in logging in with modchip turned off..
my friend who's living in florida told me yesterday there were about 50,000 votes missing in Florida, a state which is governed by another Bushling..
Ohio counts is still not done and so are other states' provisional votes..
I read a comment here that says conceding doesnt necessarily means giving up, I hope that's the case. I strongly support Kerry but if he gives up that fast, I wouldnt want him to win either..
In a very likely case Bush officially wins this circus act, I can already see what will happen: -Bush's American arrogance will show even more and eventually tick, not just annoy, the rest of the world -FOUR MORE YEARS of job loss, troops sent out to die, and other crap that has been happening..
on a side note, shouldnt what Bush was campaigning about have been done at the end of his first term? And people just buy into what he's saying because they "CONNECT" with his personality..
i dont know for sure about why it's such the case in the US, but if you think about it:
Infrastructure, Korea and Japan is a small country with big money, more than enough to lay high quality fiber border-to-border Technology is more intertwined into their lives, so I'm just assuming the demand for faster, better internet service is not unsuprising
.. and I'm not even mentioning about rules/regulations that maybe not necessarily restrict, but perhaps indirectly hamper the development and deployment of better internet services (eg. licensing for faster speed maybe?)
in any case of technological advancement, the US most of the time ends up playing catch-up..
300 levels? not another near-impossible-to-finish strings of levels.. the Super Monkey Ball 2 that i have for gamecube is frustrating enough to get thru, and now this? I'm pretty sure all if not most of you who played SMB2 agree with me about the difficulty level of the game..
I just hope they make the game at least easier, instead of being the game developers' collection of crazy creativity pieces using the design machine..
it seems like more and more people are taking things into their own hands, bypassing the government agencies' bureaucratic process that goes for ages..
we've seen the SpaceShipOne made it, and now a 'brute force' construction of a satellite.. this only leads to the question: what's next?? LEZ DO DIS!
-A simple hydrogen-powered car model that's ready to be mass produced? (instead of stuck being a prototype) -better next-gen ASIMOs? -advanced propulsion technology? -human habitat for mars?
sheez, when I thnk about how people can combine their power and time to bruteforce-building something.. almost nothing is impossible as for me, im still working on my warp machine:p
I remember when I first time browse the Internet..
It was in 1995, using the Netscape Navigator I typed my first URL: www.yahoo.com. For some reason the front page of Y! was grey instead of white..
you could probably imagine how excited I was when i saw that light beaming across the N logo..
I thought to my self, what a wonderful world wide web... (okay that was exaggerated, but it was on the same level)!! Happy Bday Mister Navigator!
speaking at the ELSPA Game Summit in London last June, former Nintendo Europe boss David Gosen said that "in every cycle, some manufacturer not profiting from the current cycle is eager to kick-start the next one..."
the signs are there:
M$ tried to steal the market by being the first cutting the price on their console Xbox, and now they're going for a head start to steal the nextgen console market..
IMO, aside from HALO, xbox doesn't have much to offer (pls no flaming,xboxers).. since the start, they jumped into a highly competitive market that needs carefully precised timing of release & strategy.
The way I see it, in global terms PS3 will have a breezy launch with slight competition from Nintendo and even less from M$
hm.. yes it does open new avenues of gaming, but since DS is the only one with dual screen like this, how many game producer/publisher/developers would invest into developing a game only for DS? I'm not sure the $$ figures needed to develop games for DS but it wont be small.. if the games cant be sold in multiple platform, in near future i see lots of Marios and Pokemons and other Nintendo-produced games..
for all the embargoes and sanctions and quotas imposed on North Korea, and besides the assistance from China, where do North Korea get their funding from?
I know they run some black-market businesses but can it fund all the WMD building, hackers training, and not to mention the "godly" dictator's appetite for hot chicks and fine dining?
on a lighter note, we should send that guy from MadTV to quietly replace Jong Il..:p
uh.. afaik, there is still some amount of gravity force acting upon the ISS, which is why they have to periodically thrust it back to its orbital position.. stuff thrown out of the ISS should eventually drop down to earth..
a quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaled_Composites_Spa ceShipOne"Although impressive, the achievements of SpaceShipOne are not comparable with the Space Shuttle. The energy requirements of true orbital space flight are in the order of 33 times as much as a SpaceShipOne ascent."
SpaceShipOne is great and all, but for my money, i wouldnt go for a "3-minute high" (pun!).. I'd rather wait for an orbital craft that can stay there as long as we like it to (@ about 500 km height).. this Buran Spiral Orbital Program website and another one about the MIG 105-11 (aka "teh wooden shoe") talks about several orbital aircraft designs..
