The Streaming movies are something I can else(any)where on the net as they suck for the most part anyway.
Congrats Netflix, by first changing to not releasing DVD's for 28 days and now this, you have made the RIAA, MPAA, Sony etc... all very happy. I'm mad as hell and cancelling, but that doesn't really matter does it as long as the Movie Guys are happy.

I could honestly care less why they sacked them. I just want something out of SONY. For the PS3 storing open text negligence, for taking away a feature I paid for (Linux- Other OS) and not giving a rats ass about me, for the Rootkit they put on my system with no real punishment, for the liars that lobbied the Bluray to win over the far superior technology that was HDDVD, for well, "EVERYTHING SONY". For the rootkit alone, their senior staff should have been criminally prosecuted. If I was to put a rootkit on a SONY Server by giving an employee a cd to listen to at work, I'd certainly be in jail. The best part- I went to GTPlanet (for the Gran Turismo Game, GT5) after this and the dam Fanboi mentality of today is every post I saw that complained or said anything remotely bad was shut down by 100 posts saying Sony is such a great company for trying to rebuild everything and that it is so great they are looking out by telling everyone about it..blah blah blah I've had enough- Boycott these thieving asshats. Well, being an Power Systems Controls Engineer at a major utility, I can tell you we already do analogs via a digital stream. The protocol of choice is DNP. It is a standard That also accepts the analog transducers used for the last 50 + years. I don't actually see why this is worthy of a story. The bigger story is how all of the utilities are going to adapt to the latest NERC-CIP regulations and adapt to "secure" versions of the various protocols. Things like secure DNP and a secure version of 61850.
For Cal just get Jorte and use the widget. Its compatible with Cyan 7.x . actually most everything is compatible. Only issue I ever had was recently running Netflix on my Nexus S when Koush typo'd the/system/build.prop and named the phone a Samsung instead of a samsung. Hate to say it but they both suck anyway. Updated to 11.4 and unity. Took about 30 minutes to decide to try out Gnome 3. I should also mention I love(d) Gnome 2 with Cairo Dock and Compiz. Now Im back to KDE. Running 4.x. I persoally hate both Unity and Gnome 3. The interface is just pain awkwrd, and yes I took the tie to customize a bit hoping it would be usable by setting up my own task bars, icons etc....

The main thing to take away from this would be that in almost every case, be it for security, copyright, or privacy, compliance is the main issue, and drives it's own agenda, while the day to day buisiness will fall to a secondary importance. If the company or institution fails as a result, not important. It is a strange state of affairs, indeed.
