I just submitted a Helpdesk ticket to get it whitelisted, since this is one of many news sources I read to stay current. It was available in a day. Most companies with halfway decent management want their nerds to read about technology, but don't want us chatting about Pokemon.
Let's assume for a minute that there is some incredibly small increase in your cancer risk from using a cell phone. If it's small enough, I dare say we should have no warnings anyways. Constant warnings all the time about everything will just drown out the actually significant risks.
"So what if this pack of cigarettes warns me? It's just another pointless government thing, like with cell phones."
(Disclaimer: I can't speak on behalf of everyone who opposes headphone regulation yet supports socialized health care, this is just my own $0.02.)
Now, can you please agree to prevent your interventionist government from taking my income to provide you with medical aid to repair this damage? Because I fail to see why I should be taxed to provide medical care to morons?
It's cheaper to socialize health care than to privatize it, but a complex denial policy would introduce too many loopholes to effectively discourage moronic behavior. Basically, I'm willing to tolerate morons getting free care on my dime if it means I will save money overall.
Why is it that everyone is against government intervention except when that intervention is on their behalf?
Because people will rationalize any position that benefits them personally. Thus, over the long term, democratic governments tend towards economic efficiency over any particular set of ethics.
Lots of anarchists have varying ideas for how to fix those things. For example, anarcho-capitalists would employ private security to keep people from killing each other, anarcho-syndicalists would have a union determine how shared resources are distributed, and Christian anarchists would turn the other cheek to groups who would wipe them out. There's more than one black flag - even if you've already determined that none of these ideas will work, they still make for an interesting read.
The government will give gamers helpful and prompt warnings when we need them because of this service.
Actually important warnings will be distributed faster and more efficiently over existing channels, while the government cries wolf about tropical storms that never reach your state. Gamers are just annoyed and ignore all warnings because they aren't playing games to stay informed about important real-world events.
We typed: 'Am I going...' Google suggests: '...into labour?' Answer: There's an easy and reliable way to test. Is there a brand-new human poking out of your lower body? If yes, then congratulations, you're going into labour. More accurately, you're already in it.
I'm amazed that these guys make fun of a question, act like wiseasses who know the answer, yet did not read the results of the search! The early stages of labor can start DAYS before birth, and false labor is very common.
I cannot imagine anyone worrying about verification in today's climate.
Truth? Wikipedia might actually have a good idea. Truth is whatever the majority believes at the moment, and the majority can always edit the story to make it fit the latest fad.
A personal attack and an appeal to authority do not prove amightywind wrong.
I don't doubt that you're a skilled and successful educator, but your high performance has more to do with a good work ethic than actual market forces. Your students are lucky to have a teacher like you. Not everyone is so lucky.
Actually, the game is meant to be simple and frustrating - it was created to spread a political message. You're supposed to play the game, say to yourself "wow, the unlucky are really getting shafted by the lucky", and want to get involved and fix the system.
"And here I am, driving to work for the 857th time... and POW! The defendant speeds right through that red light, hitting my car. Proof, your honor, that I am entitled to reimbursement."
No I didn't.
Ha! Died while posting!
You mean electronic money?

"Hollywood accounting" on Wikipedia

There are other parties besides the Libertarians who are against a police state. It's about damn time we end this three-party system!
What about opt-out?

In ten generations we'll either be extinct or be consciously choosing our evolutionary directions.
This will get 100% of the crap off your system or your money back!
You did read the part where he said "The people involved were not breaking any laws", right?
This may be particularly useful for disabled people with a limited range of motion. There are already cars without pedals for the wheelchair-bound.
I disagree. Once they have your money they couldn't care less.
The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth . In cases where multiple sources dispute the truth they're usually presented together, and even fringe theories with no conclusive proof are at least mentioned.

Then there's no such thing as pure water.
"You might as well ask me to sign a suicide note. Get out of my office!"
Article I, Section 8, Clause 8

We could mine it from the moon too, but both solutions have a similar problem: cost.
