What are you talking about? There's tons of work in the US for C++ developers. My job right now for a large company has everything written in C++. C++ is everywhere in the controls and semiconductor industries too.

Also the chance they would be running WinCC on a non-Siemens PLC isn't that likely. Every PLC maker has their own SCADA software.

But modern automated facilities want to be able to monitor everything from a SECS/GEM host, be able to remotely look and control HMIs, etc. I bet the companies that spent extra for Rockwell Automation PLCs over Siemens are happy with there choice now. How idiot to hard code a password like that. Not sure why we need legislation for this though.

I got a app update on my Ally last week and they are forcing a 3G only Skype on us. It can't be uninstalled. I haven't made calls with it yet but I have used a chatroom and it worked well.

I love the current release though the Windows installer worked great and everything worked on my laptop after the install without my help. I only had Win XP on it previously.
While I can't stand Sony and wouldn't own a PS3 at least they quickly tackled this. Playing Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360 with all the JTAGed Xboxes running rampant hacking public games on Xbox Live while MS does nothing hasn't been fun this year.
