I think that's why he said often rather than always. I definitely agree with you that it's possible that the PS3 can pull it off without costing a ton more. If so, great! It's also quite possible that what it adds, while decent, isn't worth the added cost to the final price for most people who would just as soon buy their media center components (or whatever the particular feature is in question) separately. This kind of thing happens OFTEN.
Some people refuse to get those DVD-VCR combos because they don't want to have to replace both if one breaks (besides, it seems the combos are often low quality). It'd be different if it really cost the same as buying a vcr alone (and similar quality). So that's what it will come down to. How high a quality are these extra components and how low a price will the overall system cost.
I've heard from others who own PS2s that they didn't use it as a dvd player. It just wasn't as good as the dvd player they already owned. Not to mention they didn't want to wear down the drive so that it didn't play games anymore. So IF added dvd capability brought the cost up and didn't give any added benefits to the majority of people who bought it, then it was "too much". I actually don't think that was the case with the PS2 but it could quite possibly be true with some of the features of the PS3.
It would be cool if it broke it down by categories. Perhaps by state, county, etc. Then, even if there is no way you could be at the top of the international all time high score, you could be the best in your town or state or whatever other category they break it down into.
People question science until they understand it more fully. This is a bad thing and brings us back to the dark ages? Yeah, we should get past the dark ages to when people wouldn't question the concept that the world was flat...oh wait.
Yes, more than one can play the game at the same time but each need their own pad (I don't know, maybe they have a double pad for the arcade but the principle is the same).
I remember back in my Nintendo/SuperNintendo days feeling cheated if they didn't have some sort of cutscene at the end of the game. "What? Just credits? I'm supposed to be rewarded with at least a sliding picture of each of the main characters in the game!" Back then, I'd try to beat a game a second time only faster or after finding all the secrets only to unlock a second hidden bonus "ending".
I find it hard to believe you beat all the titan quests with henchmen. You beat Last Day Dawns with 3 lvl 6 henchmen against a ton of lvl 28 monsters? If so, I bow in your presence.:)
Also, there's a few others toward the end like Final Assault where it's pretty hard to beat without splitting up. If you've got a trick to make henchmen split up, I'd love to learn it. Maybe you can beat them all without splitting up but I haven't figured it out yet. I imagine some professions might be better at going solo than others, though.
But, the nice thing about GW is that grinding is not as necessary... so I won't feel forced to stay up to 2 AM on a weeknight just to get something meaningless accomplished.
I love guildwars but I must say that you may still find something similar happening...just not because of grinding. Some of the higher level quests are pretty near impossible to beat with henchmen and really hard to find other high level players to go on the mission with you. Most of the time I can find people to join me or just grab some henchmen but sometimes I do find myself staying up to 2 AM on a weeknight just trying to find enough good players to beat some meaningless quest.
My guess is that they will cost different by console. In that case, you might care which console it was originally made for. What I am hoping they will change is how many games are listed per page. Three is ridiculously low. I'm sure they'll have more than that. But it seems too many sites I've been to are still too small. The best let you adjust how many you want per page.
Because it is helpful to me AND to others. Many people do not want to help others find their files or their sorting methods.
Silly as it sounds, it's possible to be TOO friendly. This is one reason it's fortunate that little children can cry when someone they don't know picks them up and takes them away from their parents.
Another challenge as I see it is dialoge in the book. An awful lot of the book is esientially Ender the boy genius talking to himself in his head (or thinking to himself). How the hell is that going to translate into movie form?
I think if the actor is good they can do away with much of the internal dialogue. With good editing and a few good conversations (with Val or Graff) you can start to understand the emotional turmoil he's going through. It'd be difficult but talented people could pull it off.
What I think is more difficult is convincing the audience how smart this kid is. Not just smart for his age but smarter than the adults. In the book there were a ton of little things that added up. Those things came across mostly in his mind. Like when he hurts the kid at launch that kept hitting his head. It's been a while since I read it but if I remember right, Ender analyzes the whole scenario and understands the physics behind what happens AND understands how Graff manipulated the situation to turn him into the kid everyone hates all inside his head and I thought...wow this really IS a smart kid. Just seeing him grab the other kid's arm and pull down doesn't really show the intelligence.
They could possibly portray some of this stuff in Graff asking Ender to explain himself but I'm not sure how well that'd work.
It may not be a big blockbuster (so much depends on how well it's marketed and what it has to compete with at the time of release) but I could EASILY see it making a ton of money on DVD sales.
Don't they make Disney games for the Nintendo DS?
I honestly don't know, but the idea of stopping a meteor from hitting earth came to mind.
"I see you are doing personal emails during work-hours. Click here to see what your boss really wants you to be doing!"

This doesn't exactly prove the gp post but at 85+ there are 40.7 males for every 100 females according to the 2000 census. http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/QTTable?_bm=y &-geo_id=01000US&-qr_name=DEC_2000_SF1_U_QTP1&-ds_ name=DEC_2000_SF1_U
Well, all the money that was slated to finding a cure for AIDS could then be shifted to distributing the cure to those who need it.

Only one person can be on a dancepad at a time. How many will be in each school?

Are we sure those cats and dogs really can't find their way home? Maybe they just don't want to go home. :)
Doesn't Microsoft have a free Excel Reader? I wonder if that'd suffice.

What makes you think young people are more likely to cheat than drunk people?
It's about time Ouiji Boards caught up with the 21st century.
As we've read in earlier articles, it's the consumers that are driving this HD stuff, not media producers. [/sarcasm]

2007? Are you sure you don't mean 2006? I can't see either the Rev or PS3 missing 2007 Xmas. That's a given.
I think a massive game of capture the flag could be awesome.
