Rapid transmission of information is not the point of a podcast. Podcasts are useful where your eyes are already occupied, but your mind isn't: e.g. driving. I listen to a good 10+ hours of educational audio materials every week while driving -- making more efficient use of my time when reading isn't an option.
I propose a new tag. If everyone were to tag this article and others with 'oldicon' as needed, perhaps the editors will get around to updating old icons.
