    Rapid transmission of information is not the point of a podcast. Podcasts are useful where your eyes are already occupied, but your mind isn't: e.g. driving. I listen to a good 10+ hours of educational audio materials every week while driving -- making more efficient use of my time when reading isn't an option.

    They work great, too. I often play SimCity 4 Rush Hour in a Windows 2000 guest on a Kubuntu host. Just make sure you have lots of RAM.
