I doubt it would be too difficult to get a few thousand email addresses, get them spammed, then scan incoming emails for new stocks. You don't have to get in before the spam hits, just before the wave crests, that's all.
Because those 'stupid' enough to go out and buy those stocks give the spammers incentive to continue. Spamming people like you and I who don't buy the crap.
Who is to say that others aren't taking advantage of the spammer's work? If you can buy early and sell a day later, I imagine there'd be a lot of profit to be had.
I also had that kit, and can vouch for it and its manual. My only complaint is that the variable resistor eventually wore out -- that's how much I enjoyed using the kit. Some kits skimp on the logic gate stuff, but this one has dozens of projects that use the IC's extensively. I'd definitely recommend it!
Wikipedia actually has an article full of data regarding exactly that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retreat_of_glaciers_s ince_1850 . If you don't believe what's written in the article, check out the references. The global conclusions are quite clear.
For pepole who post pictures, it's a great way to prove that they're the same individual that posted pictures elsewhere, and not some faker pretending to be them. This is a very common problem between yahoo, livejournal, myspace, facebook, and other networking sites.
I grew up in Terrace, BC, a reasonably remote community of 15,000 in Canada. We had broadband cable in '97. Yes, 10 years ago. Of course, the competition from ADSL a few years later has encouraged the cable company to upgrade their systems, too. Why doesn't this happen in large US cities? You'd think there would be economies of scale upgrading a larger system.
Not this tripe again. I live about 500 miles north of the US border, in Canada. I have my choice of cable, and a multitude of ADSL providers. I'm paying $40/mn for a 6.0/1.0 connection. It's getting to the point where if you have a local fire department, you can get broadband.
Telus is actually a fairly progressive company. They even started using VOIP for long distance back in 2002. Home Internet service is quite reliable (they don't even shape bittorrent traffic, that I'm aware of), and they're often upgrading ADSL service at no extra charge (though I splurged for a 6.0/1.0 connection at $45/mn). They also stand up for their customers, refusing to give out customer details without a subpoena, etc. The Mobility division (cell phones, etc) is also quite competitive, though they do rape you with long distance charges on cellphones, but no one has the same coverage they do. Honestly, this latest move doesn't surprise me too much (though I was surprised when it first showed up on my cell's browsing homepage).

Sounds like a Crappy, Stupid Idea to me.

Just be careful where you leave your files around. Imagine:
Friend #1: "Dude, I was hungry, so I helped myself to your yogurt."
Friend #2: "Dude, you just ate my porn collection!"
I once saw Win95a running in only 8 MB of RAM. Launching Netscape 4 would take about 2 minutes, but it worked.
Respect. I like that line of thinking ;)
One would think you'd be Courageous enough to find one on your own...
Better yet, have a scale. I.e. ... If you killed someone by accident while drinking & driving... 20 years.
Pardoned for manslaughter? Fuck that! That's exactly the kind of criminal we don't need in Canada.
British Columbia's Premier, Gordon Campbell, got a DUI while in Hawaii. Bush would fit right in.
Methinks it's time to buy a telescope to watch them merge the satellite!

But shit! How will we keep the beer cold?
Fool! Real hackers sing baud straight into the mouth piece, bypassing the keyboard entirely.

I should have saw that pun coming...

If someone wants to chop my hand off to use my cell, well, I'll just give him the finger!
How delliteful!

I certainly wouldn't want a Gentoo on my servers. Sure, it wouldn't weigh much, but think of the poop you'd have to clean up!
Just like your average America, a dinosaur doesn't fit in a compact car. Can you blame them for driving SUVs?
The Sun has the clapper? Sounds like a Solar Transmitted Disease to me!
