You're right, of course. But slashdot's elitism isn't efficient enough. Instead we should be lording our ability to advance, adapt, and make rational decisions. To do that we simply need to gloat about our scientific prowess.
The human eye is actually more sensative to green light. It's just that for some reason, companies love putting more watts into the blue lights than they used to with the green.
People love picking on America. America is the muscular jock that beat up everyone he didn't agree with in high school. Now that he's older, he pumps gas, weights 350 lbs, and is balding with a bad case of dandruff too. It's easier to kick you enemy when he's down.
Uhm, no, geography is very important, as is population density in cities/towns. Don't you wonder why party lines in rural areas in the US were used for so long? It's because it was cheaper for AT&T to set up. When the expected number of broadband users in rural areas surpasses the cost of implementation and maintenence, then you'll see Billy-Joe Jim-Bob get broadband.
Is it more likely that millions if not billions of species would be killed by a car...ALL AT ONCE? The fear is of massive death, not one person's untimely demise.
Whatever the format, make sure it's country.
Does that mean they'll only charge slashdot once for dupes?
That'd be the church. http://phyun5.ucr.edu/~wudka/Physics7/Notes_www/no de52.html
Nope, I don't think they had crappy digital cameras back then.

That's right after the 11th commandment:
Thou shalt not pay too much for a muffler.

Sooo. If we used more *fiber*, we'd be *reglular* like other countries?

To have a temperature, you need molecules. Space itself has no temperature, its the things in space that do.
I think InterSlice sounds more frightening.

Professionals, of course.
She caught you at the bar?
You gotta wonder, what was *she* doing there.
Sorry my friend, death is a boolean expression, and I now have to throw an error. Would you prefer a hammer or a brick?
What? That people who hold the Star Trek trademark don't want to lose it?
Why not espionage too? It's already suited for trojans and viruses.
Another thing about that quote. It's also saying that with the presence of a monopoly, all those things are pointless anyway.
Apartments don't have basements, at least that's what my downstairs neighbor said when I started cutting through.
"I'm sorry son, we'll never allow a hooker in this house, and that's final!"
Don't we already have a supernova detector? It detected SN1987A.
Not all of humanity, right? Only the half facing the burst.

My passing judgement doesn't bother me, since I am neither an appointed judge or sequestered juror.
