I am exactly like that. I haven't even watched a movie since my son was born (he's 14 months). The last movie I actually got to watch was Metropolis (no, not in theaters). I probably won't end up buying a 3D TV until my kids leave home.
Different regions have different costs of living. In New York, minimum wage at 40 hours a week won't cover rent in the crummiest parts of the Bronx. Maybe you're viewpoint is skewed because you don't work for minimum wage, or you don't live in an expensive region?
Honestly, I don't know why anyone who isn't exorbitantly wealthy lives in New York, unless they just like being destitute. It's an awful place to live.
DNA forming by accident is already a longshot as it is
As far as I am aware, the formation of organic life has been generally considered extremely likely since, like, the fifties. It's even been shown that organic molecules are relatively common in deep space.
I don't know if you're aware of this, but our ICBMs already go into space to do what they do, and get a fix on their place in the universe based on the stars. It might not take much to make them aim outward instead of inward at that point.
It should be obvious to anyone that he believes that the views of his constituency (which BTW is more than just teenaged and 18-25 year old anglophone middle class computer-literate males) are not supportive of a "wider range" of content in video games.
Let's say that I don't believe in setting aside reservations for Native Americans, or giving them special rights with regard to gambling. I feel that it makes them second class citizens, and stunts their ability to be contributing members of a larger society.
So I should get a say in what happens to them, right? Just because I have an opinion? Even though eliminating reservations or leaving them be would have virtually no effect on my life what-so-ever?
Yeah, democracy makes lots of sense...
Next, you're gonna say I, as a man, can vote on whether female rape victims have the right free counseling, medical care care and an abortion.
I don't think anyone compared the four-person Borderlands to an MMO, though... clearly this has more players, right? Anything with more than one person counts as massive, right?
This warn you. THOUGHTCRIME in docs after. Make Report. If fail to make report, is INFOCRIME. Make Report. If report made on failing to make report, this paradox. Paradox is LOGICRIME. Make Report.
Wow. Is it bad that I had absolutely no idea what you were talking about until halfway through the comments here? Is it worse that I've actually played that game?
Ya, in the US red is interpreted as the people who want to take away our freedoms. It makes more sense to us, because we don't have formal public education on actual political ideology.
If the AMD chip has a higher bang for buck ratio, why not just do the sensible thing and make a beowolf cluster? It's just like have more cores, because you do.
We had to do Ada for CS 101, which wasn't awful, but didn't seem like a very solid language to have to use after spending High School teaching myself rudimentary usage of ASM/C/C++/Java/C#.
God, Logo is the worst pile of crap to force on a child ever. BASIC is a far better choice. Trust me, I was forced onto BASIC and then Logo in elementary, and that Logo class was idiotic. I felt like I was getting dumber by the minute.
The Chinese Room is stupid, because if I had a mathematical model of the human brain, I could calculate these kinds of ridiculous ideas just as easily as the dude with the book calculates Chinese. The logical extension of the Chinese Room is that no one thinks, which is a pointless conclusion.

My house is 750 square feet, and it's worth over $200k. And I live in the Bronx. 2100 is a mansion. Seriously.

One might think you were a Chloe fan.
On the internet, you can actually turn words into links. I believe this technology is referred to as "Hypertext."

If only what happens in Texas were like what happens in Vegas.
I'm not saying that there are good PHP people out there
Good. Neither are we.

Disclaimer: I am now an EE, not a CS.
