Your poor 2ghz is being smothered by that underwhelming video card.

The GeForce MX 440 was a budget card back in 2002.

If you're looking for something MUCH better for not a ridiculous price, try the ATI Radeon X700.

Under $200.00 for a 256meg (ddr2 IIRC) 450mhz (ish) card. That coupled with your very decent processor should improve your games dramatically.

It's an excellent test. The CPU doesn't crunch more triangles due to the higher resolution, it's the exact same number of polygons. The video card is the stresstest in higher resolution.. the cpu sends the SAME information, and the videocard adds all the pixels, lighting, fillrate, etc. to make the more refined picture.

Thus ALL benchmarks for cpu uses this test. It takes the videocard out of the equation so it doesn't skew the results.

If the ISP MUST make a service available, there is nothing that states that I must use that service.

You must if they're the only provider in your area.

The problem is this however, the ISPs aren't content providers... they're internet service providers. That means whole access to the internet with all it's (based on point of view) flaws.

What this law would do would change them to content providers with the added expense of being a censorship monitor as well (at request). The law is pointless... Netnanny and other programs as such have been around since the beginning. As concerned parents, it should already be installed. Don't drive up my rates because some people don't want to shell out the money for NetNanny directly.
