Your meth lab argument is absurd. It's like saying that legalizing flour will result in your neighbor's grain elevator exploding. It's not going to happen.

The *only* reason that people are making meth in bathtubs is because making meth is illegal. Sure, people might want to make their own meth if it was legalized. But then, they'd see safe, pure drugs in the drugstore, at a lower price than they would be able to produce them, thanks to economies of scale.

Drugs would absolutely be cheaper and safer if they were legalized. Compare the price and quality of alcohol before, during, and after prohibition. Prohibition caused the price to skyrocket and it caused quality to fall.

Have you ever looked at the prices of drugs as they go along the distribution chain? The price jumps when you cross the border because punishments become draconian.

Also, in New York, cigarettes are expensive because of taxes, not from people "charging what the market will bear." And, this is in a city where people will pay $15 for a movie and $20 for a sandwich. There's no comparison to drugs.

Economics will tell you that drugs would sell at a price that brought in the most money for the producer. That's bound to be less than it is now, although there would probably be expensive "status" brands for rich people.

On the societal consequences: First, they are empirically denied. Look back to the 19th century when drugs were legal. No one was stealing and there were no crack babies.

Second, there's fetal alcohol syndrome as well as myriad other ways that people can mess up their children. You still don't have the right to decide what substances they can ingest or how they entertain themselves.

Legalizing drugs would cause a drop in crime. You know how drug dealers settle disputes? With guns. You know how alcohol distributors settle disputes? In court.

Didn't anyone notice that his "quotes" from the Constitution are completely bogus? Anyone with basic working knowledge of it knows that Congress isn't given any powers in Article 3 of the Constitution! That section describes powers given to the judiciary.

The phrase "Anysuch powers as are found Necessary to Provide for the Security of said Lands" doesn't appear anywhere in the Constitution.

"Yes, the CPU produces heat but keep in mind that a server room is a closed environment--no energy (e.g. thermal energy) is actually created. The heat produced is given off by the entropy reversal of information being created. When that information is destroyed, in practical terms just deleting a file, some of that heat is sucked back up and it cools the room back down."

    "I am a prime physical specimen. "

"I love science. I love big science. But science is more than pretty pictures. It is a process of creating, testing and destroying hypotheses to push our knowledge to the edge of the envelope. The Hubble telescope does none of these things. Of course, neither does an electron microscope or a hammer--because they are merely tools. But when wielded by a trained, creative and insightful scientist they can help produce startling new theories that make our life better. But the Hubble telescope isn't in the hands of trained, creative and insightful scientists. It is in the hands of bureaucrats and politicians who dole out a minute here and a minute there on whatever pet projects they happen to favor. When Scientist A creates a theory based on an observation made with Hubble, these chairwarmers refuse to let Scientist B use the 'scope to attempt demolish that theory for fear it will make Hubble look bad. We obviously can't afford to make enough for everyone, so the only solution is to let no one have it. Decommission the Hubble! "

    Here he gives dangerous advice:

"Some may say that "putting a magnet next to a HD is a bad idea" but think about the magnetic fields that already exist in the case from the power supply, nearby speakers/fans and even interference from the magnetic charge already on the disk. Putting a magnet, even one strong enough to pull a metal pin like these, near your HD presents no danger whatsoever. "
