These behavioral "sciences" are science in name only. Hell, macroeconomics is more of a science than Pavlov and his dogs.
Like, if lack of light leads to depression, you would think that people today with access to bright lighting 24/7 would be happier than people 200 years ago. Are we, really?
Okay I liked Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead and Ender's Shadow as much as the next SF geek, and I admit Card is a very gifted writer, but I'm sorry...... Being John Malkovich was not only the most overrated piece of garbage, it's NOT EVEN SCIENCE FICTION in my book.
Card apparently values moral decisions and human emotional drama over everything else. These are factors that go in a good movie, but so are special effects and kick-butt action. But most important is a good, believable, engaging plot. And for SF, some COOLNESS is essential.
As moviegoers go, Card is at one extreme, and the Star Wars prequel worshipping fools are at the other end. They are both nutty, imo.
USA-controlled net is like the Roman empire's road system. Like USA, the Romans were hated by many barbarian nations because they got too powerful and pushed their weight around too much. These other nations couldn't wait for Rome to fall, and eventually it did.
When Rome did fall, the roads were taken over by various parties and sometimes looted for their stones and not very well maintained. But, those evil arrogant Romans got their uppcomance, and that's what really mattered.
This fellow seems quite intelligent and able to express himself in writing. I wonder if he wrote that or if his publicist did it for him. I've had this idea that rockers are spaced-out potheads. Well at any rate, he has my respect.
"Hello friends,
my heart is heavy with this whole copy-protection thing. Many PC users have posted problems that they have had importing the new songs (regular disc only, not the dual disc) into programs such as Itunes. Let me first say that as a musician AND as a music fan, I agree with the frustration that has been expressed. We were horrified when we first heard about the new copy-protection policy that is being implemented by most major labels, including Sony (ours), and immediately looked into all of our options for removing this from our new album. Unfortunately, this is the new policy for all new major releases from these record companies. It is heartbreaking to see our blood, sweat, and tears over the past 2 years blurred by the confusion and frustration surrounding this new technology. It is also unfortunate when bands such as ourselves, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, etc... (just a few of the new releases with copy protection) are the target of this criticism, when there is no possible way to avoid this new industry policy.
For mac users these songs should import seamlessly. We are told that itunes is coming out with a new version for PC users in early November that will be compatible with all of these new CD's but in the meantime it's frustrating for all of us. That said, there are a number of solutions (as is always the case with these types of things) for importing the CD into your itunes and ipod. We have compiled some of the easier ways below. I feel like as a band and as listeners, we've all been through a lot together over the past ten years, and we refuse to allow corporate policy to taint the family we've developed together. We deeply regret that there exists the need for any of our listeners to spend more than 30 seconds importing our music, but we're asking as friends and partners in this journey together to spend the extra 10 minutes that it takes to import these songs, which we think you'll agree to be our finest collection of songs yet. As a band, we've always been known for having the best fans in the world and I know that will continue for years to come. A month from now, I hope to be singing these songs together at a show, and the extra time spent importing the music will perhaps be forgotten, or at least forgiven. Thank you for your understanding and the continued kindness that you have always shown for five dreamers from San Diego, we love you guys,
I don't suppose that means 400 CNEs.... they must be talking about 400 software engineers working on Netware.
Since they're proposing to cut 400 guys, that must mean that the actual Netware development team is some number larger than 400. Why so many guys are still working on a dead-end product with no future is beyond me.
because Time magazine has now moved it into their "Premium Section". Mirrordot cache idiotically forwards you to Time's "Please pay $$$ to read this article" page.
Answer: no it won't, but it will line the pockets of corrupt "leaders" that leftists worship. Same people who profited hansomely off the oil-for-food business.
infect the systems at work with my pwn trojans so other peeps' trojans get crowded out... like how your good intestinal bacteria keep out bad bacteria.
Same place BSA pulls its figure from. Out of its ass.
I thought he was Hindmost's lover :o
No I was talking about that fact that people in the old days got very little light in the form candles during the long winter nights.

People today aren't any happier. Gayer, maybe.

Do they even know how many stomachs dinos had?
Funny how you would mention this and omit something like Pearl Harbor. lol

Why your fat wife "ought to be losing" 50 pounds? If she were anything else, she would not be your fat wife.
...... no
but Wikipedia did.

How come nobody's thought of using FREON as the coolant, like in air conditioning units? There must be a geek bold enough to try.
yeah but it's ugly, and... well, it's ugly.
maybe when the patent on zenion-air effect (used in the ionic breeze air purifier) expires, they could use it for computer fans.
Zenion-air effect is a way of inducing an airflow without using fans or moving parts so it's vewy vewy quiet.
the second movie.
But that one ran out of ammo pretty quick and aliens killed all the humans.
only old people get infected

I'm thinking by Jan 2006, I should be able to pick up a silver Mini (silver being least popular color) for $130, is this realistic?
Somebody please paste TFA text....
