When stories keep changing, it is a sign of a cover up. Yet more proof that the moon landings were a hoax. . ... ... .... (now to take bets on whether this gets modded funny or troll)
You sure have bad luck with drives. Even in the late 80's, when capacity was measured in the tens of megs, I didn't have this kind of problem. Sure, drives died after a year or three, but that was when this was a frontier technology.
But as for warantees - they are a joke unless you are a mass buyer.
Really, what happens when the sun dies out? Or the earth's core cools off resulting in no magnetic field which will lead to the atmosphere evaporating into space?
Not sure about the accuracy of the second part of your statement. However, it is not going to happen for hundreds of millions or even billions of years. We can't even make policy based on things we know will help us in twenty years, much less worry about millions of years.
Bzzzt. False. If this were true, 1/3 of all the messages on Slashdot would have to be modded to negative one. Simple fact: it got modded down because Slashdot has this "we will eventuall colonize the galaxy religous belief". Go against the Slashdot religion, get modded down. It is the equivilent of the inquisition, but with folks too cowardly to actually go and physically confront someone.
Look at it this way: hackers hack. That is what they do. Sure, there may be a different way of accomplishing the same thing. But hackers love to find a different way of doing something just to prove they can. No need for a big conspiracy and trilateral commission.
Yeah. Cuz hackers NEVER take time out of their day to go after free music, and large, public web sites. They always spend their time going after the US military, and obsure Albanian porn sites.
I bet you a lot of Slashdot does. As soon as you see the first chick with nice hooters who advertizes her myspace page, and you have to be a member to see the good pics.
Not that I actually did that... I just heard about a friend... errr.... guy I used to know who did that once.
Ahhh yes, the conspiracy theory. You don't offer any counter example. You don't counter the points made in the article. You just yell 'bullshit'. Great argument.
I, for one, have a better explanation. People are dumb. That's the way Bush got elected last time. I will be honest enough to say I voted for Bush in 2000. But I am, at least, smart enough to admit my mistakes. People got their little payouts in the mail. Bush shored up his base. The folks ignored the two trillion of debt he has piled on us, and the quagmires he lied his way into.
No... I do not buy into the conspiracy theory. You don't need to rig elections except through breasd and circuses.
Perhaps if they factored in his college diet of Taco Bell into the equation, they might come to a different conclusion, if you get the thrust of my argument..
If you dig down into the links, you will see this is one of the e-mails the webmaster posted...

he second is pure ego, and may get a blowjob or two,
Dude. If you think this is any less reason to go to space than the other three, you are nuts!
Anyone want to explain how this is a troll?
Those little quote signs aren't entirely useless...
It has been a while since they have updated the data access layer. Slashdot has to strip them out to avoid SQL injection attacks.
So, the next time there is a BSOD criticsm of Microsoft, or a 'Diebold needs to be open source', or 'Bush is a moron', it will get modded redundant?
Yes, drink the cool aid you must!
A real nerd would know there is always more to download.
I would have thought of that... if some of the blood in my brain hadn't been located in another organ.
I would, but it involves trysts with Rosie O'Donnell and Roseanne Barr. I do not want to start a meme worse that goatse, so lets leave the link our.
I thought not. But then I saw it in wikipedia, and realized it must be true!

Ok, who on slashdot uses myspace?

The exit poll numbers, which had previously been extremely accurate in just about every election I'd ever heard of,
Exit polls are generally inaccurate.
And, he is aware that there are about five million products that can crack an access database in 10 seconds? Can you name your company?

I have modpoints. However, I couldn't find the -1 Knee Jerk Reaction mod.
Please be the first to remove yourself from the planet. The rest of us will follow suit, honest.
On that vein: Thank you for your properly spelled post.
