    Have you had any issues where the bulbs stop coming on right away? I've got 3 bulbs (out of about 25 housewide) that come on after the light switch is on for about an hour. Odd, I know.

    Way to swerve the debate. We were talking about a hacker discovering porn, and the ethical implications of treating it as admissable evidence. Then you switch it to hacker plants evidence which is a different story. You either have weaking arguing skills, or realize how tenuous your argument is.

    It is obvious. Companies DON'T want you to contact them. They want self-service or no service. They can give the sorry illusion of TRYING to help you by offering phone systems. In reality, they hope you give up. Service costs money. They'd rather have high maintenance indivduals go to another company and be a burned to them.

    And in reality, customers flock to the low cost provider. Serves them right when they get what thy paid for.

    Errrrm no. Police act as agents of the state. It is not as clear that some Turkish guy is. It is an ambiguous moral situation. But, not sure what the legal position is. I am sure 99.8% of slashdot doesn't either, but that never stops them from posting.

    Errrm... no. The logical conclusion would be changing the definition of a molecule because it changes states depending on temperature. ggp is suggesting a definition for "planet" and "moon" that could change regularly.

    1. anything round with an atmosphere is a planet. in other words titan is a "planet of saturn"
    2. anything round without an atmosphere is a moon. in other words mercury is a "moon of the sun"


    Even our moon has an atmosphere. Is it really a planet?

    If you set an arbitrary "value" for minimum atmosphere, what do you do with planet/moons that fluctuate with their orbit? Do they change categories when they warm up and get more of an atmosphere, and then return to being a moon when they freeze again?
