It is NEVER a good time to have the government intervene and split up a company.
Ever watch what happened to AT&T? 20 (or so) years ago, our brilliant government decided to split them into a bunch of pieces. Now, look, they have bought back all of their subsidiaries and are now as they were 20 years ago. They, like Microsoft, succeeded in their trade. They are back now to what they were 20 years ago. Splitting Microsoft is the worst possible thing that could happen. You may not like them, but the government only messes things up. Intervention NOT needed.

No, I haven't. Ever since I deleted my MySpace account (that I only had for ~1 month) a few years back, I have 100% refused to visit MySpace for any reason.

No Facebook, MySpace, or 4chan. What a wonderful world.
But there was a lot of the 90's MIDI-playing pages and flashing colors.

I thought I was the only one that searched for icanhascheezburger and lolcats first.:(
I know it's not completely accurate because Clete2 returns no results and I know that I was on Google in 2001. What's up with the search?
This is exactly why I began reading Engadget for my up-to-the-minute news and Slashdot for the 'big picture' news. Granted, Engadget is mostly focused on gadgets, but still.
I agree. I don't know much about the hardware they are using, but my old Pentium III 933MHz lasted for months without a heatsink. To be honest, I put a house fan on it and it kept cool, but still. Sometimes, it would be fine without even a fan. That CPU would take about an hour or so before it would overhead to the point of crashing (not under load). Under load, like playing an MPEG video, it would take about 5-10 minutes.
Anything more than 10 minutes or so and it will make it indefinitely.
Good insight. That was something I didn't think about.:-/
True. You could just get a new PC and get the same "horsepower" out of it that all of them combined would -- and use a lot less electricity.
It would be a good house warmer in the winter.:P
LOL. Ok. I was just wondering, as I had never heard of it before. It sounded like an advertisement to me.:P
Excuse me, I must pick up my underwear (or should I say topwear) from the dryer.
Next, it will come to the USA. I am 100% against allowing people to talk on their cell phones while flying. Of course, a special system would have to be put in place (I once had my cell on.. and I was going into "airplane" mode, but it took a minute to power off so I saw it and it was 1 bar, none, 1 bar, 2, none, 1 bar, none...). I enjoy the quiet on planes and the friendliness of the people I sit next to (I seem to be lucky). I enjoy talking to my neighbor, rather than having him/her blabbing on the cell phone "OMG LOOK WE ARE FLYING OVER A CITY!!!"
I know it will come eventually and I am dreading it.

RoadRunner is still doing this in South Carolina! UGH.
Others didn't know either. Don't attack me because I don't know something you think I should know.
Bad article. It doesn't explain what the HOPE conference is.
Which company do you use? AT&T (here in the USA) sends out promos maybe once every 6 months and they are always free to us.
I figured this out on my LG CU500. Except that the AIM client still goes through SMS. Guess who went over their SMS limit by $30 that month?
Woohoo, thank you! :D I estimated it all in my head, but exact numbers are welcomed. :)

How about turning them into a Folding @ Home farm?

Why is this news?
Sounds like BS and "We'll save the internet!" It's all advertising to AT&T.
Pink?
Kiss the original reason for Firefox's invention goodbye. "Now introducing Firefox 4! Now with added bloat!"
That said, I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 4 and it's less bloaty (memory footprint wise) than Firefox 2.

Nikon has had a program out for a while now that can tell if a picture has been photoshopped. However, it only works on Nikon SLRs.

I wonder how the accuracy of the technique in the article is with a point-and-shoot?
Sadly, I can get it through HTTP and FTP, so it's a moot point. :(
My school already blocks BitTorrent completely. I only use it to download Linux. Bastards! I'm using it legally.
Yeah, just NAT everything! :(
Personally, I enjoy having my own IP address.
I sure hope not. Some of my batteries are worth $150+
