Actually, she went to a very prestigous school in northern Michigan. I forgot the name of it. She's been schooled, but she's a little wierd. I seriously respect that article, though. Very insightful.
I actually like his endings. they leave me with a sense that the characters' lives are going to continue past what we've just read. All the loose endings aren't tied up, but they aren't tied up in real life either. There's always something to worry about. There's always the next project. Besides, if all the loose endings are tied up what happens if you want to write a sequel? What I see that people don't like is that if Neal's books were like songs they wouldn't fade out in a refrain. They'd abruptly stop with a loud beat. Just BLAM! And I, for one, like it. It leaves you wanting more.
It's Time to Kill Apogee and send them and 3D Realms to the Planet of the Babes. They knew me and my Lo Wang were the King of carnage and King of action respectively yet they decided to tell us to Hail to the king? I don't think so! They better Come get some and suck my Dr. Proton before I carve The yellow "Duke Nukem" title into their Balls of Steel! It's Zero Hour. I'll give them Max Payne! I'll make them and General Phil Graves my Prey! I'm going to drop a Bombshell here. Me, Duke Nukem, and Talon Brave were running around in the snow acting like Shadow Warriors. We saw a bunch of Pinball Wizards coming our way. Imagine their surprise when they came upon The yellow nuke symbol we made. (Being a gentleman, I won't go into details on how we made the snow yellow.)

Hello there, Mr. Trusting! Here's some code you might want to ponder: <a HREF="http://www.goatsex.com" ONMOUSEOVER="window.status='htp://www.slashdot.org '; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">www.slashdot.org</a> I personally trust a site to take me where it says it's taking me. If it even once fails to, I don't go back. How's that strike you?
Is that it? I'm thinking the color he's used is one of the 2xx "Netscape safe" colors in the oranges that he thought highlighted things well. It is an attention getting color, and though I don't like it very much, I do like the background color on alistapart because even though it's not white it contrasts well with the black text, making it very readable.
I'd like to know what you think of Zeldman's work outside his "personal site" realm. Please take a look at alistapart and see if you have the same complaints. Also, what do you think of webstandards.org? I'm not flaming you, but your comment recieved a lot of attention even though you apparently didn't see much of his work. I'd like to know if you have a problem with all of it or just Zeldman.com
I had what I thought was a pretty good question, and I saw a few others that were more worthy. I'm sorry the bitter little moderators chose to pummel you with so many angry worthless questions. If I have anything to ask in the future, I'll submit it to Dr. Web.
Specifically, how bad are Netscape's problems with CSS, JavaScript, iframes, and the myriad other gripes developers hold for it? Here's a basic answer.
I've seen a lot of criticism of your Zeldman.com site here in these forums. I've been reading alistapart recently, and I think the design there is very pleasing to the eye. Are you trying more experimental stuff with your peronal site that you wouldn't try with a commercial site like alistapart? What other sites have you done recently that you are proud of? Why haven't the dead ads been updated recently? No good ones coming in?
Actually, you pegged the period perfectly. Again, it's not my site but my wifes, and she hasn't felt like updating it. It's kind of an archive, actually. Remember, at the time this was how it was. Less blinky shit and more tables.
Your site was the inspiration for the site I did for my wife. Anyway, how soon do you think it will be until we can use only style sheets on our websites without worrying about graceful degredation? This is not to say, by the way, that we shouldn't use tables, as Slashdot and I do. What do you think about Slashdot's layout? Especially the black background with the white table in front?
How about we all just mirror the content? I have. By the way, that's one hefty assed page. It's a big ass file. I'm going to probably go through and cut much of the chaff from it.
And Microsoft thinks that everybody is using Windows. There will always be companies that don't release software for competing architectures. Intel is the least common denominator. If we waited to talk about a program until it was released to all the politically correct platforms (LinuxPPC, Alpha, and Sparc) and all the politically correct OS's (OS/2, *BSD, Solaris) we would be sitting around here with our thumbs up our butts.
I'm making a boot disk now. This sounds like one of the coolest things to happen to systems in a long time. Is there any likelyhood of this being used in ia32 bioses any time in the future? Would we be able to boot to Win98, NT, or Linux with this?
The real solution to this problem is to pay a penny and recieve 6 CDs. That's what I've been doing for years! CD's are less expensive than any other form of entertainment, and there are many companies willing to send you 6 CDs for free. You don't have to do anything. Isn't that wonderful? I'm hearing rumors that you're supposed to give money to these companies after you recieve your 6 free CDs, but I don't give them any credence. Hell, I never have and they still send offers to me in the mail for more CDs! By the way, you can sometimes get free movies and books too! Woohoo! Mind you, sometimes you need to pick a crap CD to round out your five because the companies offering free CDs only have the most mainstream music. It doesn't really matter, though, because sometimes you can just take the crap one in to a record store and return it for either cash or store credit. If it has bad lyrics, you can even listen to it a few times and then take it back and claim that your son purchased it and you don't allow him to listen to obscene music, and by the way, how dare they sell him this trash?
I know I'm a bad, bad man, but it you're going to moderate me down, I warn you that I'm on topic, and not trolling. I may be overrated, but I'm also being informative. And do I see a problem with the free music I recieve? No. I purchase CDs often, and I buy them at the artificially high prices caused by price fixing within the industry.
I can't believe so much space was wasted by you saying nothing! Seriously, what the hell was the point of that? You're just like one of those people standing around the street looking down on the body of an innocent boy killed in the crossfire of a gang fight shaking his head saying "Something should be done. Tsk Tsk Tsk." Do you have a concrete proposal? Is any company actually trying to stop information about their processors? No. Intel and AMD may not want their chips overclocked, but no company is suing Tom's, Ace's, or Anandtech for illegal perverse engineering or anything, so leave it alone! These companies are simply making overclocking not easy. They're not making it hard, but they're not making it as simple as it used to be. Big deal.
Actually, it is not illegal for you to install two copies of Quake. It works fine also. You and your "wife" could play online quake together.

They seem to be two different products. WierdX is the unsupported GPL one and WiredX seems to be more officially supported.

There.
I'm personally offended that you'd say I'm on the same level as eBay. Expect a libel suit if you're in the UK.
Please see my site regarding that.

Thanks, I guess. Do I hear barnyard noises in the background there?

Read above. MP3 is a standard. The only thing that's patented is the way that it's encoded. LAME uses a different method of encoding MP3 files.

That sucks! I was going to say some witty, brilliant, insightful stuff! Now I'll have to wait until 10 to do it.
