    In the last 40ish years, that's correct. However, the Canadian dollar actually used to be stronger than the U.S. dollar, until 1962. Diefenbaker then devalued the Canadian dollar to $0.925 US in an attempt to stimulate the economy, but instead the move bit him rather hard in the posterior.

    That's 90% according to a company touting its new anti-spam measure. However, assuming the figure is approximately true, I think the solution is obvious: Start sending more legitimate email! Just increase the signal and the noise problem will look better by comparison. Send it to family, to friends, to enemies, unsolicited to random strange... wait.

    This is a very good example for other countries to follow. This actually encourages competition and speeds up the embrace of open standards. The government should always be involved in iniciatives like this.

    It'll offer proof that you have the talent that employers are looking for, rather than them having to potentially waste time and money on what could be a load of hot air.

    I concur with that -- when I was interviewing for my current job, between the sanity-test phone interview where I learned what the job was about and the sit-down interview two days later, I put together a demo of a subset of the project they needed, and walked him through the operation and source code. After months of fruitless search, I figured it was worth a shot. My boss later told me that the demo was the reason I got the job.

    Actually, assuming they're playing songs belonging to RIAA members, it's the supermarkets who should already be paying for that priviledge to ASCAP. Don't worry, the RIAA has you covered.
