    I dunno. I became a ham radio operator because radio is cool, and there's something magical about talking and communicating over the air, without help from a big cell phone network.

    That's not a lens flare, it's vertical smear caused by the saturated pixels on the CCD saturating the entire column as they're read out.
    Read up.

    That's not a lens flare, that's a CCD artifact caused by the intensity of the light (X-rays, in this case) saturating the CCD sensor, and leaving that column saturated as it's moved across the sensor to be read out.
    Read up.

    I've seen too much of this in recent years. Control systems should be separated from the Internet by an air gap unless they absolutely need to be connected to it.

    I am eighteen and know how to use an SWR meter and tuner to tune an antenna, and what the advantages and disadvantages of various HF antenna designs are. Your argument is invalid.

    I'm a ham and I'm eighteen years old. I got my license in 2006. I don't think amateur radio's gonna die anytime soon.

    Serious comment: fortunately, the French eat land turtles, not sea turtles. Most land turtles aren't quite as endangered.
