Have you ever fired a rifle or mortar on land and hit a moving target that is beyond assault rifle range? For a skilled person that is hard. Add to that rocking and rolling of the boat on the sea and it's next to imposible for a sailor with no training in weapons and combat to do it.
I say help the pirates to become more modern. Help install radars and radios on their boats. Install GPS systems and big cannons. Then you can track their positions based on the radio/radar signals and catch up with them due to their slow speed from the heavy cannons and radio gear.
PS, I'm longing to sail the high seas with a Jolly Roger above my head, so while the above would work, I'd prefer if you all left the pirates to do their own thing.
I love my MX Revolution. It has all the buttons I need for gaming, a good feel and works nice with my mouse pad.
Granted, it doesn't have the range of the MX1000, I could use that down the hallway in another room. The MX Revolution likes the dongle to be near it, I have mine about 15cm away from the mouse pad and it's fault-less there.
It does work further away, but it'll have intermittent connection problems. But for a gaming PC with a normal 21 inch screen (none of this HDTV stuff that wouldn't fit in my house) it's a great mouse.
Once you are out to sea, whats stopping you from painting a new name on the boat, removing all registration marks and swaping the national flag for the Jolly Roger?
Carry enough fire power to ward off common pirates and have a a handful of webcams streaming live to ward off the US Goverment!
Try banking with my local bank then.
They give the option of security tokens. A new 6 digit one use only number every 36 seconds.
They also have two models of tokens to choose from, the simple one, or one with a keypad that requires you to enter a pin before you can view the authentication key.

You post on/. right? Why are you buying a pre-made computer???
You should be hand building the PC of your dreams and installing whatever OS you want on it.
And if the OS of your dreams is a Micro$oft product, I can only hope that it's also your dream to download it via p2p and tell M$ to stick it.
I fear that our advertising overlords will use this to display advertising that I'd otherwise block.
The next step in fighting advertising on the web? Block all ASCII charaters from being displayed!!!
That'll fix those advertisers.

Senator Conroy says anyone wanting uncensored access to the internet will have to opt out of the service.
-http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/12/31/2129471.htm So I have to request this service so I can then opt-out of it to get an uncensored internet?
While I have no problems with a filtered internet being avalible, I don't want to see it as an opt-out service.
What if my ISP is too lazy to respond to my opt-out request?
A hint to the M4 project team, in code seeing as how they like to waste there time decoding enigma messages. HUKFTHWERGGGIGNZZHEXRYEYEYEXVOHLQUJZJTQJN

No, you got that wrong. It's always Women and children first.
Now, if only she'd drank a big glass of water, she could have drowned the fly and lived happily ever after!

I'm one of the few lucky ones in Aus, I DO have an unlimited plan. I just lack the speed I want.

Problem solved!
As he said, you're a fool if you want any Microsoft product installed on your computer.
But don't forget to install the crack, like every good pirate should. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3610011/Linux_Genuine_Advantage_Crack
