Yes, a system that makes it pointless to vote in states that traditionally vote a certain way (like Maryland) is more representative of the population than a popular vote!!
That's sarcasm, by the way.
Originally, the state legislature would appoint the Congressmen, and the House of Representatives would appoint the electors. This system was based on the idea that the common person was stupid and needed someone to make their decisions for them. They only had a say in who represented them on the state level. With better communication, everyone is better informed about the issues, and able to make their own decisions. In my opinion, changes are necessary to fix this.
From my (albeit limited) understanding of the GPL, it just wants you to give credit to the original authors of the code. When someone downloads a song, they are not in any way claiming that they wrote the song. There's the difference betwen the two.
The difference here is that the information Apple wants to keep secret is not dangerous at all. It's just product information. No one will get lung cancer from this.
The interface is definately ugly, but I guess it fits in with the old versions of Netscape. People who don't want all of the crap will just keep using Firefox or Internet Explorer. Only the people who liked the old Netscapes (like my parents) will be interested in this, I bet.
Another problem is that you can't use Firefox themes with it, even though it points you at the Firefox themes page.
As a person who is just learning how to drive, I think I can answer this.
Usually, the phone calls I recieve require more involved thinking. "Where's the remote?", "Can you fix my internet for me?", and "Can you stop at the store on your way home?" are excellent examples of this.
There has only been one instance where I have been called while driving, and it was my father who picked it up. My mother wanted to know how to get the router working again (just releasing and renewing), and I was trying to use him as a proxy to tell her what to do. While trying to think of the best way to explain the process, I became distracted and ran a stop sign.
On the other hand, when talking to a passenger I haven't needed to think in the same manner. I suppose some cellular phone calls are like this, but I rarely recieve purely social calls.
You can calculate the trajectory and path of a projectile fairly accurately until you hit something. At that point, you have to figure out how much energy the projectile has left (if the body's resistance deflects the projectile, like it would with a small and slow projectile, or how much energy is left on it after it goes through the body). At that point, you have to consider the locations of bones in the body and other factors.
I recall hearing that one of the shots at Kennedy went through another person after it went through him. We now have to consider where the bullet goes after it leaves Kennedy's body and how much energy it has left before it goes into the next person's body.
If my understanding of physics (and the situation) is correct, it's not as simple as you make it out to be.

It's probably cheaper for them to deter people from these actions than it is for them to arrest them.
There's a house around here that was originally used by a group of drug dealers and prostitutes that was located in a bad neighborhood. The police raided it and turned it into a police substation.
I've seen a lot of mention of this bug, but I haven't seen it at all yet. I use 1.0PR, and Slashdot has always loaded perfectly for me. Of course, I haven't been on Slashdot for more than a week or two at most.
Anyone have any idea why I wouldn't experience this bug?
I submit that it would have been really cool if they named it "EDGAR".

It's a dupe! The editors DO have a sense of humor about themselves!
They're doing it just because THEYCANN. ...
A little off topic, but your sig fit PERFECTLY with that post.

I wonder if someone could redirect that Wikipedia Online Poker article to point to something else...

You mean an english speaking company with english speaking employees is starting off with english literature?!
They didn't say that the 7800 doesn't play 2600 games.
Or perhaps people should be required to have a license to drive!

No, $3.75 is correct, because it already costs $0.25.
I think you're correct on this. I have a question, though... did you just disagree with yourself?
epiphany = revelation, sudden realization
epitome = perfect example
Ken Jennings is a physical manifestation of google. I guess even Google is wrong from time to time.
Perhaps he meant the other Bush?

He shoulda made it function as a bed...
I hate to post just to correct someone, but I really hope you meant to type "due diligence".
Further on in development, I believe this would be called a Kindergarden class.

I only have one extension. The one that came with it, the "DOM Inspector".
Firefox still works perfectly for me. It's not useless at all.
