The article clealy states that apple COULD use this chip to prevent grey-boxes from running osx. The only statement that apple has made was that they wont allow that, with no comments on how they are doing it
Now when microsoft has made an OS that runs on the power5 cpu, the next step should be to make Longhorn run on the g5, so all the B/RSOD-hungry mac users can scrap OSX tiger:)
Its only the bad things we head about?

Afaik the relationship between apple and freebsd is fine, and they use eachothers' patches etc.
The problem seems to be that apple wanted to develop the browser in another direction than kde, and the communication stopped as they didnt use eachothers patches. As apple are having paid developers working on it, they should develop it their way and kde should maybe look at their methods to see if they are able to work in that way. If not, though luck.. I cant see that apple is the bad guy here.
That depends on how you see it.. they are still based and registered in germany according to their contact page: http://www.suse.com/en/company/suse/contact/
Mandrakesoft, the number one European Linux company, today announced a definitive agreement to acquire Conectiva, the number one Linux company in Brazil and Latin America.
Dont you just love thoose PR people and their lies...
I think its a good initiative from the search engines, although its probably because they are afraid of being sued... But people who want to obtain illegal information, will still be able to get it via other free american search engines...
Yes! Because it's not possible for a malicious attacker to sniff SMTP!
But then the attacker would need to send out individual emails, which yould bring the efford to a level that might put a lot of the spoofers off the idea..
On the site: http://www.itsafe.gov.uk/ theres no check to see if you are an UK citizen.. Also theres no mention of it being for UK'ers only on the site or in the press release...

Fortunately it seems like the danish socialdemocrats are now supporting a danish no to software patents, which would make Denmark vote against it.. lets hope that this will force the directive to be dropped!

The danish store (europe) doesnt sell anything HD related, but then again theres no way of recieving HDTV here anyway. (welcome to the middle ages:) )
It would be great to be able to get an inexpensive HDTV when HDDVD and BLU-ray hits the marked later this year... maybe dell should start making players too...
While Its great that they have set the price down for the mini, they have cut the firewire cable, and the power adaptor at the same time, leaving apple users with older computers stuck with their USB 1.1 connectors... I guess that they are really looking to get into the windows users' pockets instead of the Zen micro... Its 19 for the firewire cable, and 29 for the power apadtor, so price cut isn't really a pricecut.. For thoose who have USB2 and take their laptop everywhere its a bargain after all..
more interesting is the camera connector:
The new iPod Camera Connector is an optional accessory that enables customers to connect their digital camera to iPod photo and import their photos into the iPod. By simply connecting the iPod Camera Connector and a digital camera*, customers can easily transfer digital images to their iPod photo, providing tremendous storage space so they can take more pictures. Imported photos are immediately viewable on iPod photo's crisp color screen, and can also be brought back to iPhoto(R) on the Mac or various photo applications on the PC. The iPod Camera Connector is expected to be available in late March for $29.
Agreed. They have a really bad record...

I would include iodide pills if the bomb goes off...
