    The post you replied to literally said that a lot of set top boxes come pre-rooted. If they come with default userland as root for Android out of the factory, then they SURELY fall into the category you're convinced that they don't.

    1: The buyout was so huge that they all decided to "go out on top" with a huge retirement package.
    2: The team was so unhappy with the terms of Viacom's selling of the company that they are all leaving in lock-step.

    I'm, unfortunately, leaning towards the second option as it seems more realistic. I always knew the Viacom buyout would end in tears, I just didn't know it would take this long.

    There is a big difference. A fencing operation being held from a pawn shop is wholeheartedly illegal as it implies full cooperation of the shop owner with the actual criminals while in this case the site admins always responded to law enforcement in a timely fashion in order to shut down illegal blogs.

    Mark my words. This is only the beginning of high-profile shutdowns.
    The nest has been stirred and the wasps are now out in full force.
    There is, however, a light at the end of the tunnel.
    You cannot get by with stuff like this without angering a lot of people.
    Enough angry constituents and things will start to change.

    Lets just hope for the best as that's all we can really do.

    Oh yes, Verizon is sooo screwed, one of the largest ISPs in the world might get DDoSed by a hundred retarded people who will actually have the knowhow to DDoS, while thousands of others will wind up downloading trojans that spam 4chan.
