Wow... modded down for saying that I'm happy that it's at least being considered... that makes sense. The comment was based on the "we're not going to remake it" stance they've maintained for a few years now.
See my other post in this thread if you're looking for artistic use of inkscape. The technical stuff will be a bonus for when I need to do diagrams and such at the office though.
I had taken a few years of graphic design classes and with that comes the mentality that Adobe is the best. Last year I found Inkscape and have used it and been contributing ever since. A few "artistic" examples of Inkscape that I've done (be sure not to miss the last link though):
You are correct that it was not a Microsoft system, but from my understanding there was still Microsoft blame to be had. If I'm not mistaken, the ability to load "unauthorized" CDs w/o modifying the system was due to a security issue made available by Windows CE (basically to boot the disc by using a custom binary file... thanks to CE). Man I miss playing my Dreamcast...
people that don't need this will get it and we'll all get a whole lot lazier... reading slahdot without lifting a finger? sounds good to me!
A huge help for Blu-Ray...

Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD

will be if Sony officially decides to make the PS3 use the format.
With the market penetration of consoles, especially the PlayStation consoles, well, you do the math.
I know plenty of people that were excited that their PS2s played DVDs, because then they didn't have to buy a standalone player. So, I have a feeling that the same will happen if they use a Blu-Ray drive in their next console.
I don't think it's overrated and it can be quite useful actually. Personally, whatever gamecube games I play with my friends, I still prefer to use the wired controllers because they offer the force feedback stuff.
For me it's all about immersing me in the game. If I fire a gun, get hit, or something explodes... I just expect a little rumble. Sounds strange but they've conditioned me. To me it's on the same level as surround sound for the immersion factor.
Just my.02
Sometimes intelligence doesn't matter... I don't believe that influenza, AIDS, or any number of other diseases or illnesses (aka microscopic organisms) are intelligent, but they're pretty good at killing other life here on earth. I think the threat is just that it's biological life, and sometime evolution takes leaps.
Tandy 1000... when I was 4 or 5. And to think... if the command line (DOS) made sense to a kid back then, why are we dumbing the kids down with GUI stuff?
When I have kids... learn how it works and how to control with the command line... THEN they can use the GUI.
My guess is that the cops will come knocking on your door looking for whatever "device" you used to skip the commercials... and if you're a guy and just had to take a leak. Well... let's just say the internet won't be as fun.

And I've waited how long to hear this now? ;)

Why not do both though...

Clone tiler in action
Made much easier by the enhancements to node editing since

What if she used built in logging of the IM software (if it has it)? Would that be considered "interception"?

Wouldn't it be the usual capitalist formula? 1) Warm up Mars. 2) ??? 3) PROFIT!
of course not... it's the center of the Universe. Unless my information is out of date that is...

If you grab the most recent CVS version, it now has 'px' as an option for units in the document properties dialog.
