Several people have already posted in this thread saying that their release version of Vista works fine with the same router.

Tell me, does it hurt? The crash and burn of a troll going up in flames?

This subject has been discussed ad nauseum on /., but every time I read that page I gain more and more contempt for this "developer", and I hope that one day he seeks psychological help for his issues.

First, the Huffington Post link is the only one with any meat to the story, so if you can be bothered to RTFA, save your time and just go to that one.

Second, not that I argue the validity of the info, but are we at the point yet where blogs are considered "news sources"?

The software won't know the difference of course.

I suppose it will be up to the copyright owner to determine whether any given hit is actionable.

Most nice cable and satellite boxes are capable of sorting through its program guide by genre, rating, favorite actor, etc. I'm sure MythTV and other PC-based DVR's can do the same thing.

  13. Re:they should have a whip round on Dead Musicians Signing Media Rights Petitions · · Score: 1
In the case of extending copyrights, the beneficiaries are trying to get something for nothing.

One would hope that the record companies and "musicians" favor extending copyright because their recordings are still selling and making money, as opposed to extending it just to annoy people like you.

    If so, it's hardly "nothing".

  14. Just to set the record straight on Clinton Prosecutor Now Targeting Free Speech · · Score: 1
The testimony that got Clinton in trouble was for the Paula Jones sexual harassment case. Ken Starr wasn't the one doing the questioning.

For right or wrong, as independent counsel Starr's investigated the perjury allegations in addition to Whitewater, the Travel Office firings, etc.

  15. Re:It better. on Windows Vista and XP Head To Head · · Score: 1
Except in this case they've deliberately inflated the minimums to be the minimum for a working system not just the OS.

The real "minimum" is something stupid low like 256MB RAM, just twice XP's minimum after 5 years. Sounds fair.

But there's a difference between "minimum to boot" and "minimum to have a decent user experience"
  16. Re:What's next? on New Email Rules Effective Friday · · Score: 3, Insightful
