Actually, it's the same for me. Although I only use 5 of the buttons. Two of those are right by the thumb, very handy for back/forward usage. MX518, the best mouse I've ever used.
I just installed it and I immediately noticed a change: the cursor started lagging. Closing the program resolves the issue... Any thoughts on what I might do to fix this?
There is no such thing as overkill. Torrents give you the whole album and so potentially increase the chance of finding another song of the same artist that you might like. Even so, I've stopped downloading music thanks to free (unless you count the ads) services such as Spotify. It's a time saver and it makes you feel slightly better about yourself. The downside of these kinds of services is that a lot of music is not available, which calls for illegal downloading of music, and it's actually gotten worse, but it's slowly getting better again.
I rarely use the buttons or the menu since I've got the hotkeys firmly engraved into my mind, but if they take away my sidebars I'm going to get pissed.
About this whole Chrome speed mishmosh, I recently did an extremely simple test of my own. I set the homepage to my google personalized homepage on both browsers and resized them so that they took up about half the screen each.
After opening both browsers simultaneously it seemed that the start up was pretty close but Firefox loaded my homepage a lot faster. Why is that?
Good point. In that case, I'd say that you're pretty much screwed. Unless you have some kind of secret police watching the people in charge of prosecuting bribery. Although I can't say I like the idea of secret police all too much...
I think that punishing the people who accept bribes is more important than punishing those who bribe. It's not really fair, but if the financial climate requires bribery then obviously something is wrong. Punishing business interests for trying to succeed could lead to lowering the incentive to do business within the region. But by making sure that no one wants to accept a bribe, then you change the business climate. People accepting bribes are the real criminals.
Well, as true as your statement may be, it doesn't make bribery ok. Government officials in China have been executed for accepting bribes. If you have to bribe someone, you should make sure that you can't be convicted for it.
I agree completely. Name one movie when aliens come in peace and really mean it? Well, apart from District 9, but that doesn't seem like a good scenario either.
I say we go dark until our battle cruisers are operational.
Most politicians in Sweden are not rich in that sense. Sure they have good wages but not so much more than that. Besides, the nobility only exist in name and the only special right they have is that others are barred from changing their surnames to one that is used by a noble family. As far as I know, it's fairly rare for nobility to partake in the upper echelons of politics. So in conclusion, I would say yes, it's probably more common to accept bribes in Sweden given that it probably is harder to resist on grounds that are not purely economical. On the other hand, I don't know how rich the nobility is in Britain.
I'm pretty sure there is something like that already, but I can't quite remember the name. Great wall of fire? Incineration barrier? Bitblocker? Digital Aegis? Conflagration-Wall?
Linux users have figured out that Santa doesn't exist.
Hey, I just felt something woosh over my head! Was it Santa!? Maybe he does exist!
No, that was the sacrilege you just uttered. No Santa... I'll burn in the hearth if there's no Santa, our lord and saviour who died on the holiday cross for our sins and was then resurrected to deliver presents.
Obviously there is a lack of car analogies in the communication between you and your parents. Try telling them that the internet is like a road and browsers are like cars. All cars (browsers) can use the road (internet), but some are faster (Opera), some have better handling (Firefox?), and some browsers are like a '93 Ford Taurus with rust for an engine (IE6).
Exactly. I live in Stockholm and there's just no where to park your car if you're going to the cinema in town. I suppose people could park their cars a few kilometres away, but for 700 people next to the cinema? That is simply impossible. Carrying around a laptop is nothing weird either, in case you feel like working or blogging or whatever at a café and then feel like catching a movie later. And that is disregarding the fact that you don't need to use laptops for the recording, I don't even know if you can use them at all.
Too fast there, but a Svenska Dagbladet, one of Sweden's biggest newspapers are also reporting that TPB is down due to a threat of being fined issued to their ISP, Black Internet.
Is this really news? I'm fairly sure that I've seen this before, though for the life of me I can't find a link to back it up... Maybe I saw it in a dream. Damn you IT manager in the UK! Stealing ideas from my dreams!
If each address was a dollar, you could buy approximately 1,546,738,031,458,811,197,560,793,670 cars with it (assuming the cost of the car to be USD $22,000). Though there might be some kind of discount when buying that many at once.
It's not a question of how this process would have affected anything, because the truth is that it has. Every information medium since the printing press has gone through the same process.
Remember when they said radio was going to kill music? When televisions were going to be the end of radio? When VCRs were going to be the end of cinemas?
People with power are afraid of change, and they will try to prevent it. That's simply the way things have always been.
Did mutated sea bass go out of style or something?

Well, there you go. I upgraded to 10.04 and it works. Thank you!

Is it really that bad in the US?
And now, the $0.5 million question: How much money does Gates give to charity?
According to the Wikipedia page on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the foundation donates $1.5 billion per year. And a BusinessWeek estimate lists Gates as having donated $28.1 billion over his whole life.
That is ridiculous, if I wanted to buy the largest company in Sweden, I'd probably pay something around that amount.

I know it's redundant but it's telling me that google is down...

So what's the point of all these hard drive coolers then? I almost bought one of those...

This is getting really old, not to mention stupid.
You're more afraid of the police than people with guns and/or knifes?
