    it will continue. What will happen is that it will drag America down.

    In particular, Germany is already adding ISP customers. But
    it is more general than that. America used to be 'the best town'.

    If that perception is no longer true, and, for instance, the
    dollar goes down, there happens to be
    a wider world ...

    I'm as old as this guy I'm sure. And he's right but the thing isn't the TV, it's the economy, and the way people move in, and geography, and every other damn thing. Actually, although he elects to, there is NO possibility of avoiding the advance of technology. Other hand, we're all going to broil to death unless we start facing up to things as connected adults.

    Why was there no thought applied here? Why should we make
    suckiwood wealthy? What is the moral rule that applies? Why make
    a game of intersecuring knowledge with one another? Why would
    this still be a world of pirates (DCMA) versus us when we could
    actually have had a new world ?

    I am an artist, by the way. There is no defense here,
    except of Capitalist (valueless, useless) "values". Up until
    now, we have prospered by keeping intelligence open
    and online. THIS IS STUPID.

Life, by contrast, is a most interesting phenomenon, and we don't know yet about whether or if any damn thing has existence as a reproducing self-centred beingness beyond what we know.     There is a good clean safe technology to close the gap
    and also clean up the nuclear waste that's lying around ..

    That's IFR .. Integral Fast Reactor. Worked at Argonne for
    years, cancelled by idiots including John Kerry, under
    Bill Clinton. Again he is guilty. The last good study
    by the DOE on Nuclear rated it #1. Read about:

    The Unix Operating System, version 7. That's what came after
    punch cards, for me, and I still use the basic lingo in Linux today.
    Everything followed Unix, and it is still alive here and there.
