"If [Super Mario Galaxy is] not a launch title it will definitely be there within the first six months" -- Miyamoto (emphasis mine)
Well, they've got one month to make a surprise release, or that's one example. I believe they also promised multiple Wii colours at launch. Not big lies, but yes, looks like they do have a track record.
Tetris has a flawed scoring system. Getting doubles and triples probably takes more talent (or at least, a larger talent-to-luck ratio) than keeping one deep gap open and waiting for I-pireces, but Tetrises are worth like four times as much as triples.
The game itself is ok, but it's no Tetris Attack / Pokemon Puzzle League (the two are pretty much the same)
"It has to be clear that the site is a parody, and not the actual site."
If someone can't tell the difference after reading a small sample of each site, then apparently the mining industry needs to hire better PR representatives.
Agreed. The one player non-CPU Standard mode in Tetris DS is crushed by this. I look at the videos and wikipedia entries of Tetris: The Grand Master, and think "why can't we get that outside of Japan?". Instead we get "The pieces fall to the bottom instantly so you have no control over them when they're in the air, but then you can rotate them forever".
I gotta agree. Right now in general the Liberals are just totally inept and wasteful, it's hard to objectively deny that, while the Conservatives are competent but I don't like many of their policies. With 3rd parties you can read their stated policies but don't have much of an idea of how competent they are (aside from how nicely they've laid out said policies).
I agree with this. As an example, the Bloc Quebecois earned about 3/5 as many votes as the NDP, but wields about 5/3 the power. Check the table on the right
The Wii's already pretty small, and I don't think DVD playback alone will be worth a revision.
I think what we're looking at here is nothing short of HD capabilities. What this would mean is more beefed-up specifications to handle the improved resolution. Then, when an "old" Wii game or one without HD capabilities is loaded, the HDWii downscales its specs to the originals. But for new games with HD support, the HDWii plays them in HD and uses its beefed-up specs to keep the frame rate up.
I give this an 80% chance of being the case. I can't think of anything else worth a hardware revision.
(Maybe 8 remote support, but that would be frustrating for current Wii owners)
But that's the GP's whole point. The radar gun might not have reached the qualifications needed to ensure it was accurate. It's obvious that they sped, but not necessarily in a legal sense.
This is totally true, as demonstrated but this excerpt of a typical court case that didn't use the/. post as evidence method.
MPAA: Is it true you downloaded these movies? Defendant: Yes, but I don't feel that it's morally wrong. Crowd: *gasps* MPAA: Fuck. Well I guess we don't have anything on you, you're free to go. Defendant: Really? I didn't expect that to make a difference legally Judge: There's a clear precedent in Vice City vs. Tommy Vercetti. He didn't feel his rampant killings were morally wrong, so we let him back on the streets with a clean record... several dozen times.
Zelda: Easy fighting, yes (not as easy as Wind Waker). The puzzles are hardly easy. I wish there was a second play-through that doubled damage done to you. Alas.
Trauma Center: Oh yeah, this game is way too easy.
Rayman: Get close to 1000 points in almost every game in score attack mode and I'll concede (hint: you won't, because of a combination of high difficulty and eventual boredom).
Wii Sports: I haven't gotten one gold medal, let alone a platinum medal in any of the 15 training games. Now I beat Ikaruga on normal with 3 continues ("easy" with none), I can beat all the levels in Freq/Amplitude, all the gems in Crash Bandicoot (in the first crash this is hard, trust me), all the platinums in Blast Corps, yet I can't get one measly gold in Wii Sports? With more effort, I could, but fact remains, you lose, I win.
At this point you'll encounter Psycho Mantis' son, and he'll kill you instantly. At this point, you have to throw the controller, flipping it multiple times in the air. This will literally make you spin in your grave, which will cause some sort of ironyquake*.
"Damn you, Kojima!!"

The best games will have a few moments where it becomes intensely difficult and losing is not Game Over but winning will change the story slightly.
This is akin to the stage clear mode in Tetris Attack (or Spa Service in Pokemon Puzzle League). There is a "bonus" level that's pretty much as difficult as the final boss if not harder, but if you fail it, you just go on to the next level.
In Fire Emblem GC, *minor spoiler* you can flee from the black knight if you're not up to it. It's pretty hard unless Ike has the Aether badge and Mist is on your team, but retreat only makes minor changes to the story, and affects who joins your party.
The SpiderMan/Venom Ultimate Carnage for Genesis/SNES has this part where you're ambushed by multiple boss characters at once. Not sure if you can beat it, but the longer you hold out, the better items you get.
Scripted losses are ok, but generally I only want one near the beginning of the game. Otherwise it gets to be a waste of time, considering your actions have no affect on the outcome. The optional losses are where the real money is though, and it gives developers an opportunity to make really hard parts.
Oh, I'm sure some random scapegoat will be jailed over this. Too bad that doesn't make a difference.
The shooter levels in Rayman Raving Rabbids represent another good example.
I can't wait for a real FPS to go on the Wii, and that's coming from someone who detests the genre.
In the frozen land of Nador, they were forced to eat Romney... and there was much rejoicing.
(Disclaimer: No actual political statement against Romney intended)

Well, he's not a hypocrite. Self-contradictory maybe, but the real term we're looking for here is attention whore.

I'll bet you $573 that Elebits is not made by Nintendo.
(Since about 1 out of 100 people will get that reference... it's by Konami)
They can paraphrase Sony during the Rootkit debacle.
"Most people, I think, don't even know what WGA is, so why should they care about it?"

They just need a new method of rumble. Nintendo isn't paying patent trolls (though they might have a "prior art" case that Sony doesn't).
I use Wikipedia a bit in my academic studies. A lot of the articles are sourced pretty well.

Suggest it as a poll in the Everybody Votes Channel ;)

You don't need a DS Lite to play any DS games.

23 isn't evil. Twenty-three is number one.
