They did already pay for the class, so i mean, if they choose to skip it, it is definitely their choice. If you want to make the lectures available later i don't see the problem either way.
Would you prefer they show up and do a crossword or fall asleep?
As would be selling copies of books and movies. However, the rest of the quote implies that it would be illegal to sell originals due to the supposed license associated with those products, of which there is thankfully none. The article was either poorly researched or poorly written.
Not sure about you, but i already need a crack team of lawyers and interpreters to know what most legislation and court rulings mean. Lets keep the codes to a minimum.
This can only be described as "Super Dumb", i hope that the companies involved stop acting like "super villains" because i'd hate to get sued for using something as "super common" as "super hero" when i write something as "super insipid" as this comment. Gosh, it's "super hard" to put an adjective such as "super" in front of a noun such as "hero". I'm glad they came up with that for us. Oh wait...
It has been said probably a thousand times around why the transition isn't going well, and lack of a must-have title is just part of it. Over the years i've owned probably half a dozen consoles, From the NES to a PS2 and a bunch of stuff in the middle. In that time i've played dozens if not hundreds of games. And while Marios, Final Fantasies, and all the rest of the bunch are fun, how many times can i buy something with the same basic formula doing the same basic things. Its been 20 years, give me something new already, because i'm not paying $400 for a new XBox360 to play the same tired genres. I've shot enough people and jumped over enough stuff, that i want something new, and the developers are refusing to give it to me. So i won't give them my money. End of story. There is a reason the video game industry took a dive once before. Too much crap that no one wanted. Looks like some people never learn.
The report finds this surprising when considering a comparison to movies (games typically offer 30 hours of gameplay)
What games are they playing that take up 30 hours to complete? Most games take 10 at most, and lack any sort of replay value. This isn't a real brain teaser, i can spend $15 on a DVD, or $50 on a game.
I agree, i just don't think the best alternative to google is something that does the same thing. I want alternatives, but i want innovation instead of google-clone.
Except most people can't carry a tune to save their lives. It would be like searching for mickey mouse when you really want donald duck. One of the results MIGHT be helpful, but i wouldn't be money on it.

breakthrough n. An act of overcoming or penetrating an obstacle or restriction. A military offensive that penetrates an enemy's lines of defense. A major achievement or success that permits further progress, as in technology.
Apparently SpikeTV has decided that breakthrough means any new technology, as opposed to a truly significant achievement...Not like we've seen a handheld before, or a console for that matter...
This used to be true, before the widespread use of aimbots and wallhacks. Now you simply need to walk around and let your scripts do the looking and shooting. Somedays you don't even need to look at the screen to win. Mouse be damned.
Internet: [nope]
Tim Berners-Lee is credited with having created the World Wide Web while he was a researcher at the European High-Energy Particle Physics lab, the Conseil Européenne pour la Recherche Nucleaire (CERN), in Geneva, Switzerland. A tool was needed to enable collaboration between physicists and other researchers in the high energy physics community.
It's more than a little hypocritical to call someone else's education flawed when you yourself are presenting incorrect information.
First and foremost, the world wide web is NOT the internet. This is an unfortunate, yet common misconception. Additionally, Berners-Lee didn't announce the project until the 90s.
Secondly, the initial work done for a "internet" was done by DARPA/ARPA, a division of the US government in the late 1960's.
TCP/IP was introduced in the early 1980's(1983) to be exact, and later included in BSD.
So next time you want to bring someone down for being poorly educated, make sure you're not a pot calling a kettle black.
Perhaps when talking about things from the last century, one should not mention events that happened in the late 18th century such as the French Revolution. If one does, perhaps they shouldn't yell at others when the time period is no longer restricted to the last century.
For the love of all that is holy can we stop grouping politicians and mega-corps and the rest of us second class citizens for the rest of this thread.
If anyone in this thread seriously thinks any sane American would want bullshit like the DMCA then you have bigger issues. The law is crap, the people who wrote it are crap, and the companies that paid for it are crap.
As americans we don't support it, we don't want it, and we had no say in it.
If you think it sucks being another country and having US laws forced on you, just remember you atleast have a government that could stand up for you if they wanted. We don't.
He makes some valid points in that there are security holes avialable in almost all browsers. His big main point is a big "duh" for anyone who has ever used a computer attached to the internet.
However, then he starts blaming security holes in the browser on uneducated users. This is where i started to lose him. Understandably as more users switch there are going to be more users who do not understand what is happening. This is hardly the fault of the browser though, and should not be counted against it.
When comparing two programs that do the same thing on security merits, several things should be considered, including number of known security risks, severity of risks, rate of patching known risks, and then farther down that list user knowledge.
This does bring up an important point though, there is no patch process for Firefox(atleast the Mac version). So it's possible that security releases are not be disseminated to normal users. If this is true, then you can release all the security patches in the world and it won't do a damn bit of good. Perhaps an incremental auto-patch is in order?
The worst part about stuff like this is that the system is set up in favor of the person stealing the information. There are what seems to be very few safeguards to prevent the theft of someone's information.
However, when it's time to clean up the mess, those responsible for it, including companies that were mishandling the information, are nowhere to be found. Thus leaving the victim to spend excessive amounts of time and money clearing their "good" name.
Just proves the only person watching out for you is yourself, so be careful who you trust.

I'm pretty sure the "role" from Role Playing Game falls under one of the following:
role
n 1: the actions and activities assigned to or required or expected of a person or group; "the function of a teacher"; "the government must do its part"; "play its role" [syn: function, office, part]
2: an actor's portrayal of someone in a play; "she played the part of Desdemona" [syn: character, theatrical role, part, persona]
3: what something is used for; "the function of an auger is to bore holes"; "ballet is beautiful but what use is it?" [syn: function, purpose, use]
4: normal or customary activity of a person in a particular social setting; "what is your role on the team?"
They did already pay for the class, so i mean, if they choose to skip it, it is definitely their choice. If you want to make the lectures available later i don't see the problem either way.

I think it was actually an episode of the twilight zone.

All i'm saying is truth is stranger than fiction, and i don't want to be around when the killing starts.
So you're saying they used independent contractors?
