    The main question about embryonic stem-cells was 'Is it right to kill a human being to potentially save other lives?'

    There's also another, broader question, which last I heard nobody quite agrees on, namely "Is an undifferentiated ball of cells a human being?". If the answer is "no", then it sidesteps your question entirely. It doesn't seem entirely proper to debate that question, in relation to this issue, when there's broad division on whether we even need to answer it.

    I am afraid of dying because, genetically, if my ancestors were not afraid of dying then chances are they would not have survived to pass the "fear of death" genes (eventually) on to me. At least from an evolutionary standpoint...

    China does do one thing different, though - it welcomes outsiders and uses as much as it can from them.
    Well, after reversing their policy of exploration to one of isolation during the Ming dynasty, only to watch their country cut up into "spheres of influence" by foreign powers, it's no wonder that they'd decide to take advantage of the resources from outside world.
