I couldn't even do that entirely. At my last government-related job (contractor) which I left last month, anything under games.slashdot.org was blocked because it fell under the category of "games".

Isn't that what happened in Europe? Expensive gas caused many consumers to buy small cars that get excellent fuel economy.
Cheap gas in the USA caused consumers to buy big inefficient vehicles. I think the average economy for cars in the USA is 25 and that's not impressive. In the past few months when gas was over $3 a gallon, people started to buy more small cars that get excellent fuel economy. I hear you can't even get a Honda Fit right now without waiting a month or more.
What's really nice is when you have a car that gets excellent fuel economy AND gas is cheap. I did this back in 1997 - I could drive 310 miles on lesss than $10 of gas.
I'd like to see the tax revenue that California gets from Honda and Toyota. Their North American headquarters are in Torrance (Los Angeles County). Toyota and Honda should return the favor and move their headquarters to a more friendly state, just like Nissan is planning.
I bought a bare bones 2003 Honda Accord LX Coupe from a dealer in Southern California. I negotiated my price through the internet and was able to get it for $1000 under 'invoice'.
p
$8000 under MSRP or $4000 under invoice sounds good, but when you're after a basic no-frills model the reality is that they're not marked up that much and you can only talk the price down so low. I got my Accord for just over $17,000 (not including tax) and even though it has no options, the standard features are sufficient for my needs. For $3500 more I could have gotten an EX model, but that would have only given me a sunroof, wheels (no hubcaps), rear disc brakes instead of drums, body-colored lower side trim, and slightly 'better' interior fabric (though I couldn't tell the difference).
The solution is simple. Just do a google search for the code that you're looking for. There are plenty of web servers readily available, why should you have to write them another one?
Seriously, who friggin' cares about HD. I'm certainly not excited. I see it as something that people use to show off to their friends - "look at me, I have a 42 inch HD display!!!" I know HD content looks a little more stunning, crisp, and vivid, but standard definition is just fine for most people. It's not like there's distortion or noise like in the analog days. The little compressions artifacts you can see in DVDs are tolerable, even when displayed on a large screen.
Can you elaborate? What kind of custom rom do you need to ensure stability and where do you get it? How do you 'carefully' select apps to install?
My wife has a 700p and it doesn't crash much, though the only apps she regularly uses are Blazer, Bejeweled, and the phone. I'm interested in a custom ROM to get rid of the crap that Sprint installed by default, GetBC (business connection) and GetGood (whatever that is). I'd also like the ability to use downloaded files as freely as I choose. Sometimes downloaded files are 'locked,' prohibiting me from transferring them via bluetooth, email attachment, or to an SD card.
I do however like it when gigantic corporations see the importance of talking to their customers as if they were human beings and not wallets - or at least pretending to. Google does this. Apple does this.
How exactly do they do this? Google sells ads and makes a ton of cash, and they don't try to hide that fact. Apple sells expensive computers and expensive MP3 players, making a ton of cash. With regards to treating customers like humans and not wallets, how is Apple and Google any different than Yahoo, Microsoft, or any other big corporation? They're publicly traded companies, and profit is their main concern.
Just ask the casinos, who increasingly have sensors on booze bottles that wire the manager when the bartender is poring long shots.
Is that what those things are? I was at a club in NY that used them, and noticed them in Vegas. I thought they were some sort of pouring mechanism to dispense an equal shot each time.
My wife is a flight attendant. While going through security early yesterday morning with her crew, they were told they had to dispose of all liquids. The captain was asked to throw out his contact lens solution. How is a pilot supposed to fly a plane if he can't clean his contacts?
The news certainly doesn't help calm anyone's fears. Everything gets blown out of proportion. I make it a point NOT to watch news on television, but nearly everyone I talk to who has watched it is afraid again, and feels that air travel is unsafe. HELLO! Last I checked, it's safer to fly than it is to drive your car.
Carlos Mencia (the comedian on Comedy Central in case you don't know) mentioned something similar last week. He was talking about people who complain that their grocery store discount card allows the store to track what they purchased. His response was along the lines of "so what if someone knows that you're buying apples, frozen chicken, TV dinners, and Fruity Pebbles."
He did mention that there were some purchases that you should always make using cash only and no discount card, for example when you are buying cat food and condoms in the same transaction.
So are your searches safe if you delete Google's everlasting cookie?
I'm in the habit of deleting Google's cookie after I log out of Gmail, and whenever I close my browser. Is this useful, or does Google log by IP? All of my searches come from a small handful of IP addresses that are shared among many computers.
I drive an environment friendly ninja 250 motorcycle
Perhaps if you're only considering fuel consumption. As far as emissions go a motorcycle is fairly dirty, though a 250cc Ninja is probably much better than a Surbuban, Expedition, or most other SUVs.
Hey, that's a good idea! I've already put together a rough outline of how we can make that work and whipped up a business plan. Want to start a new business with me?
I wish I had mod points; insightful! Though you did consider the real estate price, you didn't mention taxes. I live in NJ, and we have the highest property taxes in the US and some of the highest income taxes. My rent for a nice fairly new one bedroom apartment is just a bit more than what property taxes would cost for a slightly larger two bedroom house in my area. I'm content with renting for now, especially in the current housing market.
Whenever I see an ad that's annoying, I make it a point NOT to buy the product being advertised.
How does Nielsen Media Research even know what people watch in their homes? I hope it's not done by telephone surveys.
I couldn't even do that entirely. At my last government-related job (contractor) which I left last month, anything under games.slashdot.org was blocked because it fell under the category of "games".
If the US is as bad as many foreigners make it out to be, then why are so many immigrants moving here?

Speaking of handing out swords, don't forget that tomorrow is Fatwa Friday!!!

I'm almost 26 and I'm picking boogers right now while reading these comments. (I'm serious)
How about the black one or the white one ?

Darn, I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Time to switch to IE. oh, wait a minute...
