Apple will most certainly demand that it work seamlessly with iTunes, which should make file transfers a breeze. That would be the last worry I'd have with this product.

The design is decent, but the color is ass ugly, maybe they'll come out in a variety of colors or skins. I doubt that black and green is the first choice of many customers. Motorola and especially Apple should know that. Which is why I think that wont be the only color available.

I would love for my products to do a bunch of things in one...IF they did everything they were supposed to do well. But the norm is that when your player does more than one standard thing, you give up quality and functions from each component involved and that is the unfortunate part. I've become a minimalist when it comes to components. So I'd like to put as much as I can in the smallest space possible, but as of now, I don't trust many multifunction components. But if I could get excellent craftsmanship and all the features I'd get if I bought these pieces separately, then I wouldn't mind having an all in one package.

My new personal DVD peeve is transition animations in the menus. I click the play button on the menu and then I get a 5-10 animation just to start the movie that I wanna watch. I get even more frustrated when I click on a menu button that only leads to another menu, but still have to endure one of those animations. I don't need to see the screen blow up, or "OOH" the letters float outward toward me. I just want to get to my movie or to the next page, and yeah, your animation might be pretty but it's unnecessary and they're getting to be way too long. I can certainly live without em.

I believe your definition is highly elitist and narrow. Wheaton's interests seem to fall directly inline with the definition above, which, I might add are interests that most of us on this site share. Not to mention the fact that he starred in a show who's core audience is, in fact, geeks and nerds (Have you ever seen Trekkies?). I don't know what you do that makes you feel so special, but you should come down to our level and join the rest of us, cause as it stands, your definition would probably not include most of the people here. I don't view him as a superhero, hell, I didn't even watch his show, but it is kinda cool that someone who's been on TV and film, would hang out at this site and banter back and forth with, and even consider himself one of us "little people".

It may have once been the incorrect term, and to some people (such as yourself) it still is, but I think that it's been used so often that it's become a valid term. There was even a show called 'Card Sharks'. The same way duct tape has officially become duck tape. (although the fact that the company changed the name to duck bothers me. You wouldn't tape a duck, especially with a heavy duty tape, but you would a duct.)

This is exactly why they get away with these outrageous actions in how they treat their customers. They take away your consumer rights and you say "Sure, how many rights are you taking away today?" Perhaps if you and others stood up for yourself, you wouldn't have to deal with having to ripping a track from a CD, then burning it to another CD, just to listen in your car. You see, CDs ARE SUPPOSED TO PLAY IN CD PLAYERS! Come on man, show the music industries and the governments that you wont accept these measures, that you want your rights, you deserve them.

Because, like Windows, people tend to think of big label music as better than free (indie) music, whether it's better or not. So Windows and "professional" music are more attractive to them plus they're better known and more advertised. Sure the better known stuff costs more, but then again, that's the reason for piracy (their term, not mine).

DLO seems to be acting like true dicks in this matter, the people are basically giving the design away to let DLO produce and they still gave DVForge the cold shoulder. A last ditch effort might include proposing a sub-contracting deal with DLO; Basically DVForge can build and sell and probably even market the product themselves, but put it under the DLO brand name and the two parties could split revenue. I know the idea sounds like DVF is getting the shaft, but they seem like they're much much more interested in getting the product out to the market than making money. This way DLO doesn't have to do much, if any work and spend little to no money on the product but bring in basically, free revenue. If the product is as good as the DVF guys say it is, then DVF can recoup their R&D funds, plus some (depending on the percentage of returns they get). I'm not even sure if DLO will accept the proposal, but the DV guys seem like they're at the point of desperate measures, and this is something they should at least ask about if they have that much faith in their product and really want it on the market that bad.

Extreme last ditch tactic. Rename it "The Star Trek Ipod holder", then complain how "DLO is cancelling our product" and tell them you don't have the funds for a lawsuit and let the Trekkers shell out money for your legal defense.

You can even go so far as to be able to map your mouse to strafe if you got a tilting scroll wheel.

Yes, all that technology is nice, but ultimately worthless, if the movies coming out of it have no substance.

It's not worthless if it's going to be making him money, let's say oh about 50 million on opening day. Indy Jones is coming, and the money that movie is bound to make will pay for this technology many times over. Plus the Star Wars TV show(s), video games, etc. Sure the quality of the movie may not be what you want. But, it's obvious someone is watching them, in fact it's highly likely this is a genius move, because it allows the people there to work diligently with the most minimal of technological setbacks. Some might say this is overdue at the Lucas camp (not that they were exactly working in the stone age at the old campus). Bottom line, the work may not be top quality film making, but it will pay for the technology, and the technology will pay for itself by being the tool that creates blockbusters.

Plus, as someone mentioned, for comparison shopping, it's invaluable. Plus with tabs I get to see the page name and logo onscreen in the tabs. In grouped windows, all I get to see is how many pages I have open (especially since I autohide my taskbar, which is irrelevant here) My opinion is that, tabs are infinitely better than taskbar groups when it comes to web browsing, and the more web pages open the better tabs become.
