In this day and age, there is no reason for a web page to render its content at the same width as a newspaper column in the classifieds section.
Bad design should be punished, or routed around. Safari's Reader feature does just this (along with loading the rest of the article from subsequent pages) and it's magical.
iTunes might have problems but it's the only music library manager that actually makes an attempt at music library management. It also integrates with a lot of neat gadgets in ways that no other software does.
And Safari is great simply because it's the only web browser in the world that renders fonts properly. Firefox, Chrome, IE, and even Opera look just hideous.
"Your customers decide which UI you use and how you design your product."
No. This is not how a successful product is made. You should read about Dieter Rams and his philosophy, or more recently Steve Jobs. When asked what kind of product testing that Apple does with the public, Steve said "none whatsoever."
To illustrate what happens with your product design philosophy, you just need to listen to pop music and watch a few Hollywood movies. Both are custom-crafted to fulfill the desires of Joe Average.
Linux, Windows, OS X, and Solaris all use the BSD SSL code, or very close derivations of it. If the BSD coders are lazy, then the coders responsible for the above-mentioned OSs are even worse, right?
After the OpenPandora debacle, people should be wary about pre-ordering anything. I know the theory of the idea, the company typically uses pre-orders to fund the design and construction of the thing, but with so many other tablets out there, why gamble?
"corrupt the influence and sanctity of the courts"
Oh, ho ho ho. The courts corrupted their own sanctity long ago. Don't labor under any illusions.

The only market share figures that matter are the ones from Wikipedia. Many people find IDC to be somewhat non-credible these days.
According to the Wikipedia Apple still commands the majority of mobile phone market share.
It's tough to even know how many Android phones are out there because nobody will even say how many get into the hands of a consumer. Apple is the only mobile phone maker that releases this information. Sure, we know how many Samsung phones were produced in a given period, but we have no idea how many were purchased.
Please don't quote some activation numbers, we have no idea what those mean or how credible they are.
Not exactly. Google makes money by profiling its users. They save this information, as well as everything they can get from the users. Then the government comes and commands them to hand it over.
Because Google insists on keeping so much data about everything users do, as well as keeping the users' emails and such in plaintext on their own servers instead of using per-user encryption (they have to be able to analyze the emails after all!) Google has become partly responsible for the encroachments on users.
Looking over your posts here - what do you do, just shill for Google all day? The criticism leveled at Google is legitimate and all you can offer is a pithy little crap remark about how it's not Google's fault.
How do we know it is falsely claiming that the users are pirates? The guy in the link admits to using Installus which is an application specifically crafted for piracy. Maybe he pirated it, maybe he didn't, but who likes to admit to being a criminal even when busted red-handed?
The obvious choice here is XP. It is stable, well supported, still gets patches, and is generally a better option than 7. Plus, you probably already own it.
The other option is to get a proper OS and just use WINE. Or you could pirate Windows and use it a VM. Just do anything but pay money for another copy of Windows.
We rebuilt our Exchange stores six times this year! This is a big Fortune 500 company, so maybe Exchange is only stable in SOHO type operations.
The law doesn't matter if the DOJ won't enforce it.
In that sense, the law is fictional unless somebody notices and then prosecutes a crime.
It's only racist if it isn't true. This is something that a lot of people fail to comprehend.
What about the Samsung backdoor into your phones?
It was most likely just a story, a parable.

Son, I've been married for a while now. The trick with the wife is to buy what you want and then worry about it later.
DDG uses Bing, Google, and other search engines. It's an aggregator. DDG is not some evil plot by Microsoft designed to somehow make Google look bad.
So power off the projector when it's not in use!
This seems like a total non-issue, with numerous and easy workarounds.
Good choice on posting AC on this one. You wouldn't want people to associate your blatant idiocy with your real account.
This could be solved simply and efficiently by redefining which screen is the "main" one.

Thanks for the most retarded comment I have seen on Slashdot in months. That's quite a feat!
Can you elaborate your particular needs? I made the transition to Mountain Lion on 2 monitors without any issues whatsoever.
What specific functionality was removed? I realize Spaces went from a 2d grid to a 1d grid, but was this really a removal and not a change?

Still suspect this could have something to do with the SSL backdoor allegations made a while back. http://www.mail-archive.com/full-disclosure@lists.grok.org.uk/msg47029.html
Yes I know the allegations have largely just petered out over time, but this doesn't allay my suspicion.

No, I will not replace anything. Including any company that profiles is more correct.

Well, this time it is. Deal with it.

Every family has a little Indian princess in its ancestry right?
Hahahahaha.
