    Enter the slashdot geek!
Gamers who read slashdot are probably more interested in alternative OS's than the mainstream and want to learn something that helps them with their gaming hobby - plus they should have the parts already and be comfortable setting it all up from a hardware perspective. It's a good guide for those who game and have an interest in OS's other than Windows.

What about young kids - mobile phones have been popular with kids at school for only around 4-5 years now at the most. We don't know if they will be affected in 30 years time.
Maybe the effects will worsen or become noticable after using a phone for 30 years.

We should be able to tell what cell phones do to us, without waiting another twenty years.

Yeah but nobody still knows for sure - *Should* is not good enough.

Regardless of all these studies, the only sure way to know is wait - time will tell.

Here's some sample questions (from your users) and answers from the site.

    * Question: "Is the Internet down today? Why can't my browser find www.flakyhost.com?"
    * Solution: First, check your wireless network with the scanap script; it will tell you about the wireless signal quality of all associated clients, including the one that's giving you problems. Then, check IP connectivity with the pingall script; it will tell you about the latency to your ISP's gateway, the DNS, and all your clients, including the problematic one. If these two scripts establish that your network is OK, try www.flakyhost.com.

    * Question: "Yesterday I downloaded from www.flakyhost.com at speed X. Why do I only get speed Y now?"
    * Solution: To determine if your network is saturated, run the countlog script. It will tell you the day's transaction load history by client and by hour.

I don't think so, but then again it depends on how you define racism.

IMHO, racism is a belief, not an instinct or something that evolution uses.

Though I guess that you could say "survival of the fittest" is kind of racist in the context of evolution, different species and classes of species. But that doesn't mean that in this context that racism is bad. From my point of view, racism as a belief is BAD!

It's interesting, but something we have to be careful about, not just because it's a "touchy subject" but because racism means different things to different people and it has very different meanings in different contexts.

To me, a confirmed fact would mean that we know (that we know) 100% of everything about the theroy to be correct - therefore, why study it further?

Don't get me wrong, my beliefs sway strongly towards evolution as there is a lot of evidence associated with it. But it is still a theroy - it's just a lot more plausible than many others.

I may have 3 years experience and knowledge of CRM systems and I can take that with me to another company - that's fine.

    Cheers for the site!

Here's the blurb for those too lazy to search the site :)

QWheel(TM) touch wheel technology can be thought of as a 'capacitive potentiometer', where the wiper is a finger. The electrode consists of a simple resistive ring element placed behind the plastic panel; three capacitive QT sensing channels are connected to this ring, and the signals processed to 7-bits of absolute position. The result is output on an SPI serial interface. The device can be set to sense through panels up to 3mm thick, and even through gloves.

The entire circuit with the electrode ring can be fabricated on a single-sided PCB for very low cost. In many cases the technology is less expensive than mechanical equivalents, and in all cases is more reliable.
